Sacrament of Baptism Expectant parents must be registered members of this parish for at

least six months and contact the Parish Office three months prior to

your baby’s birth to make arrangements. Godparents should be at

least 16 years old and must be confirmed, and an active member of

a parish community. If the Godparents are married, they must be

married according to the norms of the Roman Catholic Church.

Classes fall on the first two Tuesday’s of the month at 6:30pm.

Anyone needing to attend the Baptism Classes, must contact Angie

Kollasch at 955.8868 prior to taking the classes.

Sacrament of Confirmation Preparation for the Sacrament of Confirmation is open to all high

school teens. For those considering the Confirmation Formation

Process, the candidate must adhere to the following: 1) Be a high

school aged youth, 2) Have at minimum one year of religious

education prior to Confirmation or be concurrently enrolled in a

high school religious education, (or attend St. Michael’s High

School, and 3) be willing to commit and have the Faith readiness to

embrace the Roman Catholic Faith Lifestyle.

Sacrament of Holy Matrimony All couples contemplating marriage must attend an approved

marriage preparation conference. All couples of Santa Fe parishes

who want to be married in the Cathedral Basilica must enroll in the

Sponsor Couple Program. Please contact the Cathedral Basilica at

least six months prior to the planned date, to make arrangements.

All couples must be interviewed and go through this preparation

process before a date can be officially set.

Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick The Healing Mass is offered on the first Sunday of every month

following the 12:00 p.m. Mass. All those who are seriously ill,

suffer from depression, or are about to undergo surgery are invited

to come forward to receive the sacrament.

Sacraments of Reconciliation & First Eucharist Preparation for your child to receive these sacraments usually

occurs within 3rd grade with at least one prior year of Religious

Education. Please contact the Parish Office for more information.

Become a Cathedral Basilica Parishioner If you are new to the area, looking for a new spiritual home, or

have been attending mass at the Cathedral Basilica and haven’t

formally registered, we would like to invite you to become part of

our spiritual family. Registration forms can be found on our

website www.cbsfa.org (look for the Parish Registration tab) or by

visiting our parish office. Once your registration form has been

received you will be contacted. Adults, 18 and older are invited to

register under their own name.

RCIA

The RCIA process already began. Classes are held every

Monday in Crispin Hall from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Adult Catechesis Classes are held every Wednesday evening from 6 -7 p.m. in

Crispin Hall.

Religious Education The Religious Education are held every Sunday from 10:00 -

11:30 a.m. in the old “St. Francis School,” now NMSFA.

A Catechists’ meeting will be held on Tuesday, October 28,

2014, at 6 p.m. in Crispin Hall. The presence of all catechists is

expected.

We invite all high school students to take advantage of this op-

portunity to build your community - where you can learn more

about your Catholic faith, share in the mission of

Jesus, support one another, and have loads of fun. Weekly LIFE

TEEN Mass, teens will experience the depths of God’s love

through the Word, the teen community and the Eucharist. Fol-

lowing the Mass, our youth minister and core members lead the

teens deeper into their Catholic faith experience. Every Sunday-

Teen Mass at 12:00 followed by LIFETEEN sessions 1:30-

3:00pm Crispin Hall.

The Junior High Youth Program is a religious education for stu-

dents in grades 6th, 7th, & 8th. The program will cover different

topics based on our Roman Catholic Faith. The Youth group is a

great way to get to know yourself, God, and others better. Every

formation Classes 1:30-3:30 p.m. at Clare B.

HONDURAN MISSION:

VISIT BY FR. JONATHAN

Fr. Jonathan Funes, the Pastor of our Sister Parish in

Honduras, Santa Rosa de Lima, is coming for a visit to

Santa Maria de la Paz and the Cathedral Basilica of St.

Francis of Assisi. Fr. Jonathan will be at Santa Maria the

weekend of November 8-9 and at the Cathedral the

weekend of November 15-16. On Sunday afternoon, No-

vember 16th he will do a Sacred Music concert at Santa

Maria. We are extremely blessed to have Fr. Jonathan visit

our parishes. Details of the visit will be reported in the bul-

letins in the coming weeks. On Monday, October 20th

there will be a meeting at 5:45 pm at Santa Maria in the

Cristo Rey Room (i.e.. the Library) of the Honduran Mis-

sion team and anyone interested in helping with Fr. Jona-

than's visit in any way. We are hoping for a good turnout

so that we can prepare a warm and welcoming visit for Fr.
