Confessions are heard 12 minutes to 5 minutes before each Mass; on First Friday before the 12:15 Latin Mass from 11:45 AM to 12:05 PM and after this Mass until 1:15 PM; and during the Monthly Holy Hour for Vocations.

Marriages Couples who wish to marry at the parish should contact the Rectory for a Marriage Request Form, and for further information. The bride or groom, or their parents/grandparents must be registered parishioners for at least eighteen months to make arrangements. There is a twelve month timeline for wedding preparation.

Registration To register with the parish, please call the Rectory.

Baptisms Baptisms take place Sundays at 1:00 pm. Parents must be registered parishioners, and can call the Rectory for information and scheduling.

Holy Hour for Vocations

There is a Monthly Holy Hour for Vocations that will in-clude Eucharistic Adoration and Confessions. This Month-ly Holy Hour will be from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. on the Thurs-day immediately preceding the First Friday.

Religious Education

To sign your child up for our Tuesday or Sunday Religious Education classes, please contact Patty Chavez, ext. 110 at the Outreach Center. All families must be registered with the parish.

Anointing of the Sick

During office hours, please call the Rectory to request an anointing. If the office is closed, please call the emergen-cy line which is 908-433-7590. If you or your loved one is in a hospital, the head nurse could also call for the chap-lain.

ADULT CHOIR

Ages High School and up

The Adult Choir is progress-ing with its weekly rehearsal rou-tine, accomplishing productive work. Have you wondered what choir rehearsals are like? We try to cover a little of these each week: Posture, Breathing, Vocalizing with the Breath, Aural Skills, Reading Music, Reading and Sing-ing Solfege, Learning Songs, and Learning about Sacred Music. Re-hearsals are far from dull!

Non-choir members, try this: Walk up to a tall mir-ror, watch yourself closely as you take a few breaths, make sure to inhale and exhale as fully as possible. Then, ask yourself, “What moves while I’m breathing? My upper chest/shoulders or my belly?” If you said “belly” - good job - that’s diaphragmatic breathing. If you said upper chest/shoulders, you might want to come to our next rehearsal, we’ll help you fix that! If you missed the first meeting and the previous re-hearsals, there is still time to get involved. Please feel free

to attend our next meeting at 7:00 pm on October 20.

Rehearsals will be on Thursdays at 7:00 pm in the Church’s choir loft.

PASTORAL CARE STEPHEN & PADUAN MINISTRIES

Our Extraordinary Ministers made 13 communion/shut-in visits and 1 Stephen Ministry visits during this past week. We pray that we have helped to bring God’s love and peace to His people in need. Our Conscience “Conscience and reputation are two different things. Your conscience depends on you, whereas your reputation depends on your neighbor’s estimation of you.” -St. Augustine

It’s not always easy, but we should strive to listen to our con-science in all the things we do and decisions we make. With God’s help we can strive to do what is right and avoid those things that are wrong for us. Remember, a good conscience is a clear conscience. Our Extraordinary Ministers are available for our parishioners to visit the sick, the elderly, and to bring Communion. Please contact us if you need us at 732-483-0360 ext. 120.

Blessing of the Pets Parishioners and their animal companions gathered on the church plaza on Saturday, October 8 after the

5:00 pm Mass for the Annual Blessing of the Pets. Let us continue to call upon St. Francis for his prayers and intercessions for our animals and all of God’s creation.

Saint Michael’s Altar Rosary Society

Monthly Meeting

Saint Michael’s Altar Rosary Society monthly meet-ing is next Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at 1:00pm; Outreach Center; 6 West End Court. Refreshments will be served after meeting. All women of the parish are welcome to join us. For fur-ther information, contact Dotty O’Hara at 732-483-0360, Ext. 120.

St. Vincent de Paul Society Next month, we will collect gently used coats. (Its hard to believe we are already thinking about the cold weather- but it will be upon us before you know it!!) We are also

preparing for the holiday season. So far 98 fam-ilies have signed up for Thanksgiving Turkeys. This number will be sure to rise. We are asking for gift cards to local food stores, and holiday foods, such as corn bread, stuffing, dry milk, canned vegetables, gravy, and applesauce. Also looking ahead, we are asking for gift cards to local stores, such a Tar-get, K-Mart, JCPenney, movies, etc. to help our families cele-brate Christmas. If we can get these early on, we will be able to help as many families that we can. Please be as generous as you can.

Attention First Holy Communion Families: You should have received in the mail a letter for our First Penance and First Holy Communion meeting that will be held on Sunday, October 23rd at 10:10 in the gym at Deal School and Tuesday, October 25th at 4:10pm in the gym. Don't forget if you cannot attend this meeting due to a work schedule conflicts, please make sure you have someone there who will represent you. If you did not receive a letter please see Patty at CCD ASAP!

Youth Group

The Youth group had an amazing time at the Blessing of the Pets! It was held on Saturday, October 8 after the 5:00 Mass. Father Butler lined up all the people and there pets and said a prayer and gave them there blessing! Despite the rain,

there were about 25 families in attend-ance :) The Youth Group provided treats for all the dogs!

The center Sanctuary Candle will be lit this week in loving memory of John Leach, 15th Anniversary, requested by his wife Gloria.

This week the Blessed Mother’s Altar Flowers were donated in loving memory of Helen Dauksys, 25th Anniversary, by the family.

The bread and wine at the 11:00 AM Mass on Sun-day, October 16, was donated in loving memory of Helen Dauksys, 25th Anniversary, by the family.

Respect Life The St. Jerome- St Mary’s Respect Life Committee once again invites you to join us in the very important ministry of the “Forty Day’s For Life” Fall campaign. It begins September 28, and runs through November 6, 2016. They plan on partnering once again, with other local parishes, conducting peaceful, prayerful protests at the Planned Parenthood facility on New-man Springs Rd. in Shrewsbury where the abortions are per-formed. The goal of this ministry is to save lives by immersing the area in prayer. Thereby, saturating the facility, staff, and pa-tients with the love of Our Lord Jesus and His Blessed Mother in

attempt to stop the brutal murder of our most innocent and vul-nerable…our babies!! “The Right to Life is the First Human Right” To date since this campaign began in 2007, there have been 11,796 documented babies saved! Life is an essential issue to all of us and as our Pope and Bishops are telling us, “as Catholics we have a responsibility to stand for Life”, especially this Fall! Please come bring your rosary, a friend or two, and stand up for LIFE, Mondays for 1 hour between 8AM and 6PM at Planned Parenthood in Shrewsbury.
