As I emphasized the last several weeks, this year’s appeal is about assuring the parish has the necessary financial resources to sustain and maintain current programs and ministries. Offertory income declined last year, and we are struggling to pay our bills. If you have yet to complete a commitment card, you will have a chance to do so during Mass this weekend. I am very grateful to all who financially support the good work of our parish. The next Open House at The School of the Cathedral is this Tuesday beginning at 8:30am. Prospective parents and grandparents are cordially invited to attend and experience first-hand the positive atmosphere of our school community. Principal Michael Wright, Fr. Kevin and I look forward to greeting all who participate. For more information about SCMOQ, visit the school’s website www.schoolofthecathedral.org. Volunteerism/Stewardship of Time will be a major focus of the parish’s pastoral plan over the next several years. One of the areas that needs volunteers is our music program. It is obvious from many conversations with parishioners that music is a major factor in the prayer life of the parish. Both our traditional choir (11am Mass) and contemporary group (9:30am Mass) need additional members with both vocal and instrumental talent. Please consider being a part of the parish music ministry. I know that both Glenn Osborne ([email protected]) or Ashley Powers ([email protected]) would love to explore possibilities with you.
