Twelve Days of Christmas Here
is a challenge we would like for
you to take and sing our version
with a bit of a school day twist
On the first
day of school
Mrs Thomas
gave to me one
smile to start off
the day
On the
second day
of school
Mrs Barber
gave to me
two shiny
pencil sharpeners
On the
third day of
school Mrs
Doughty gave
to me three packets of Snoopy
writing paper
On the fourth day of school
Mrs Garcia
gave to me four
pretty pencils
Twelve Days of School

nine ther-
mometers
On the tenth day of school Mrs
Keyes gave to
me ten maps to
color
On the elev-
enth day of school Mrs Hanson
gave to me 11 multiplication facts
On the twelfth day of school
Mrs Myers gave to me twelve read-
ing assignments
Now your job is to sing it back-
wards

The gift that keeps on giving by Makalah arzola and heather wineman
everyonersquos wish list
Education can take you
anywhere in life Whether you
want to be a scientist or just travel
the world both of those require
money And having a good educa-
tion can get you a good job where
you can earn that money you
need
When you grow up most
people either get married or go to
college Whatever you decide you
need to earn money and having
an education makes that easier
Research shows that educa-
tion is key to a good job In an
article titled Guide to the Real
World it states ldquoIn todayrsquos job
market what you know is what you
earn The more you know the
more you makerdquo So paying atten-
tion to your teachers may not be
such a bad thing It may even pay
off one day with real money
To conclude you may want to
add that extra item to your Christ-
mas wish list and it will not cost
your parents any money Include
doing what you have to do to get
a good education and the rest
will work out on its own
Everyone loves to work on
their Christmas wish list
Your favorite present maybe
an electronic gadget or a
new CD by that ldquohot boyrdquo
band you like Christmas is a
very busy time and many of
us start to get distracted
However putting all that
aside we have to remember
why we are all here at RES
It is to learn and get an edu-
cation
Wow Hearing that puts a
shrieking halt to what we
were talking about earlier
but it is true a good educa-
tion should be priority on
I believe we all know that Christmas is all about the gifts Maybe your Christmas wish in-cludes a new phone a Nerf gun or even a Sam-sung camera I know there are lots of things I want and the Kitten Ex-press would like to know what your perfect gift will be this year
Sixth grader JJ Valdez says he wants a
new phone An Iphone would be great to open on Christmas morning for him
Thomas Barber a kindergarten student at RES says an X-Box 360 would be the coolest gift ever from the lovable Ole Saint Nick
Kindergarten stu-dent Barrett Garcia says happily that he would love to unwrap a drum set Christmas morning That would definitely be a loud gift to find under the tree that the rest of the
family could enjoy too
There are only a few more days until Christ-mas so be good so Santa will be good to you too
