    Overview

    Introduction This document contains information about the Afour Intelligent Solutions

    documentation project life cycle methodology. It lists the summarised methodology

    cycle from the pre-engagement meeting with a potential client all the way through

    to delivery.(See Project Life Cycle document for full detail questionnaire and list.)

    The phases of the documentation life cycle methodology include:

    Definition,

    Design,

    Production, and

    Delivery.

    Definition

    1. Pre-engagement Meeting 1st time meeting. Submit questionnaire.

    2. General Project Issues Establish exact requirement.3. Documentation Issues Establish type of document; User Manual, Tutorial, Online Help, etc

    Require Defaultmanual or a How-to manual or Both?4. Audience Analysis Establish the User Type.5. Publication Issues Establish type of document distribution.6. Technical Assistance Establish the project Sponsor (Decision Maker)?

    Establish the SMEs (Subject Matter Experts) for this project?

    Establish access to system software.

    7. The Review Process Establish the standard review process?8. Scheduling Establish timeline, review cycles, slippage, milestones, changes and updates.9. Administrative Issues Establish project name, contact person, status reporting, invoicing, system

    access.

    Analyse software system.

    Using questionnaire & analysis, submit quotation.

    Design

    10. Kick-off meeting Confirm the objectives, and the structure.11. Determine the Theme Design When client has own standards requirement.

    material.

    17. Write the content Using all gathered information and materials, plan and author thedocumentation content.
