Displaced Worldwide there more than 70 million refugees and migrants – more than ever before, and for a variety of reasons. Often it is war, violence, persecution, hunger, inhumane living conditions or the consequences of climate change that drive people from their homes. The documentary series Displaced shows why people all over the world are leaving their homelands and setting off into the unknown. The programs are mindful of the following questions: How does the lifestyle of people in the northern hemisphere affect people in the southern part of the globe? What role do western societies play in this mass forced migration? The series begins with the film “Oil and Ruin – The Vene-zuelan Exodus”.

How Important Is our Gut? Let’s be honest: We barely spare a thought for our intestines, unless they’re causing us problems. And, thanks to the latest medical research, these symptoms are more easily treatable than in decades gone by. For example, doctors now know that the composition of intestinal flora is responsible for many illnesses, that a variety of gut disorders are the result of food intolerances and that psychological problems can also be linked to our intestines. Researchers are even close to resolving the IBS phenomenon. One negative development is the rise in the number of younger people contracting colon cancer, primarily in industrialized nations. On the other hand, improved colon cancer screenings and the removal of pre-cancerous cells have led to a drop in the disease among older people. In Good Shape reveals what steps we can take to keep our guts healthy.
