All students demonstrated impressive tackling and passing skills which only improved as the day progressed. The boys played in a pool with 5 other teams and although very competitive, were unable to get a win. Justin Webster, Kobe Little and Zayd Williams were hard to stop as they barrelled through opposition players for the entirety of the day. Billy Marzol, Darcy Cameron and Lachlan Bomm were inspirational in their toughness and willingness to keep going no matter what the challenge. After honing their skills in a rugby league tackling clinic, the girls team played a three match series with South Wagga PS. Unfortunately they also were not able to get a win but were tireless in their effort and secured a draw in the last game. All students are to be commended on their participation for the day as they represented Turvey Park Public School with a valiant effort. Congratulations Stage 3 NRL Teams! No excursions, no problem! On Tuesday 27 October, Stage 3 students participated in a Virtual Excursion called 'Rush for Gold!' Students analysed photographs and paintings from the Australian Gold Rush and were able to submit their answers to the wonderful Susan at the State Library of NSW who was running the event. Overall, it was an engaging experience and we found out that the largest gold nugget ever found was about the height of our students! We will be zooming into another virtual experience in week 7.

Dear Turvey Park PS families

I hope your week is going well and you are enjoying the nice weather.

• Clothing pool – Our clothing pool is now up and running on a Monday morning - 9.00 am to 9.30 am. The clothing shop is now under the hall and can be accessed via the driveway near the Halloran Street gate. Thank you very much to Erica Williams for being available to open the shop. There are new shirts available to buy as well as a range of good, second-hand clothing. We also accept donations of quality clothing you no longer need!• Attendance – At TPPS we carefully monitor the number of students who are away from school. We have noticed that we have a big increase in our number of students absent each Friday. We are aiming to have less than 20 children absent each day (we did it Tuesday!!) and need your help to make sure that children come to school when they can. Thank you.• Explanation of absences – Please message TPPS with an explanation of absence if your child is away from school. You can do this several ways: our schoolstream app, email, phone, dojo message or a note to the classroom teacher. Thank you for your help in this matter.• Smoking near gates – TPPS is a non-smoking site. We are asking our community members who are picking up their little people, not to smoke near our school exits. Please keep our school block a smoke free area and have the cigarette away from the exits. Thank you.• Book Fair – Thank you to Mrs Sharrock for having the Book Fair at TPPS. She has had several fabulous staff volunteers helping at different times and while it is exhausting(!!) TPPS appreciates their efforts greatly. I have seen lots of students with great books, bookmarks, pointers and pens/erasers. Thank you very much for supporting this opportunity.

Have a great week

Anna Roberts - Principal

P & C NEWS Colour RunWe only have 2 weeks left until the Colour Run. If you haven’t already, you can sign up sponsors either using a paper form or at www.myprofilepage.com.au. We are looking for donations of empty plastic sauce bottles. They can be dropped into the front office.

Facebook PageTurvey Park Public School P&C Association is our official Facebook page. ‘Like’ us, to keep up to date with P&C information. You are also able to email the P&C (address at the bottom of the report) with any queries.

Canteen NewsOnline OrdersThe online ordering system is becoming really popular. Please remember that any changes to an order need to be made by 8am on the day the food is required. The only way an order can be changed is through the online system NOT by sending the student to the canteen with a message such as ‘no mayo on the chicken burger.’ The last tab on the QKR app is titled ‘Custom Orders.’ By using this tab you are able to customise your order for burgers and wraps (eg: no mayo, no cheese). If you are still not able to find the option you need, please order your child’s lunch the ‘old fashioned’ way, using a brown paper bag and cash sent in to the canteen.

Canteen DonationWith the introduction of online ordering, we are in need of brown paper bags for the canteen. Due to health regulations, the packets would need to be unopen. Donations can be dropped to the front office.
