Turning of the Year KS2 lyrics 3,4 and 5 December 2019 The snow is falling The snow is falling, it's crisp and white It's so inviting, let's go outside The snow is falling, down to the ground The snow is falling, without a sound The snow is falling, down to the ground The snow is falling, without a sound Now's the time, let’s go out and play Now's the time, make angels, let's ski Now's the time, fresh footprints, cold hands Now's the time, time, time Now's the time, time, time. This winter’s night The gentle moon, A silver light. An icy chill, This winter’s night. The heavy sky, With stars so bright. Twinkle, on This winter’s night. Slowly, the first flakes fall. Softly, no sound at all. And in the evening, when we’re asleep, A downy blanket soon covers deep. Peaceful, silent, an endless white. The promise of snow On this winter’s night. MELODY: The glist’ning frost, A magic light. Not long now, This winter’s night. COUNTERMELODY: Slowly, the first flakes fall. Softly, no sound at all. And in the evening, when we’re asleep, A downy blanket soon covers deep. Peaceful, silent, an endless white (x3) The promise of snow On this winter’s night.

Tingalayo! Come little donkey, come:Tingalayo! Come little donkey, come.

My donkey walk, my donkey talk,My donkey eat with a knife and fork!

Tingalayo! Come little donkey, come:Tingalayo! Come little donkey, come. Tingalayo! Come little donkey, come:Tingalayo! Come little donkey, come.

Turning of the Year

The leaves are falling from the trees,And there’s a coolness in the breeze,The days get shorter and the nights are drawing in,As the winter time beginsLife will start to disappearBefore the turning of the year.

And after all the leaves have died,The trees stand bare against the sky,An icy wind blows and the frost lies on the ground,Cold and darkness all around. And the winter time is here,At the turning of the year.

Light the fires, keep away the cold,Shut the windows, make sure all the doors are closed,Extra clothing, wrapped around us tight,Stay inside it’s too cold to venture out at night.

But soon the ice begins to thaw,The sun shines stronger than before,And on the branches there are green shoots showing throughAs the springtime comes anew,Life begins to reappear,At the turning of the year.

At the turning of the year,At the turning of the year, life begins to reappear. At the turning of the year, life begins to reappear. At the turning of the year, life begins to reappear.

Sing up, it’s Christmas!

Can you feel the magic all around? Jingling, tingling, festive sights and sounds.Lights twinkle on the Christmas tree, presents are wrapped for you and me.Wonder what’s inside, you’ll have to wait and see…

Hear the bells ring out as we all shout, it’s a wonderful time of year.Choirs are singing songs that are bringing joy to all who hear.‘Rejoice, rejoice’, the angels say, ‘Celebrate this Christmas day.’Join in, sing along, (x3)Sing up, it’s Christmas!

Everyone together having fun.Eating, drinking, Christmas has begun.Songs being sung in harmony,Dancing with joy and revelry.Counting down the hours‘Til we see if Santa’s been!

Clap your hands and stamp your feet,Raise your voices, feel the beat.Clap your hands and stamp your feet,Raise your voices, feel the beat.

MELODY: Hear the bells ring out as we all shout, it’s a wonderful time of year.Choirs are singing songs that are bringing joy to all who hear.‘Rejoice, rejoice’, the angels say, ‘Celebrate this Christmas day.’Join in, sing along, (x3)Sing up, it’s Christmas!

COUNTERMELODY:Clap your hands and stamp your feet,Raise your voices, feel the beat.Clap your hands and stamp your feet,Raise your voices, feel the beat.

Sing up, it’s Christmas!Sing up, it’s Christmas!

I wish it could be Christmas everyday

When the snowman brings the snowOh, well he just might like to knowHe's put a great big smileOn somebody's faceIf you jump into your bedQuickly cover up your headDon't you lock the doorsYou know that sweet Santa Claus is on the way

Oh well, I wish it could be Christmas every dayWhen the kids start singing and the band begins to playOh, I wish it could be Christmas everydaySo let the bells ring out for Christmas

When you're skating in the parkIf the storm cloud paints it darkThen your rosy cheeks gonna lightMy merry way Now the frosticals appearedAnd they've frozen up my beardAnd so we'll lie by the fireTill the sleep simply melts them all away

Oh well, I wish it could be Christmas every dayWhen the kids start singing and the band begins to playOh, I wish it could be Christmas everydaySo let the bells ring out for Christmas

When the snowman brings the snowOh, well he just might like to knowHe's put a great big smileOn somebody's faceSo if Santa brings the sleighAll along the Milky WayI'll sign my name on the rooftop in the snowThen he may decide to stay

Oh well, I wish it could be Christmas every dayWhen the kids start singing and the band begins to playOh, I wish it could be Christmas everydaySo let the bells ring out for Christmas

Why don't you give your love for Christmas?
