Quick Facts

Homer, the Braves mascot, is named for the last line of the national anthem “home of the brave.”

The Braves moved from Milwaukee to Atlanta in 1966.

Turner Field was originally built for the 1996 Olympic Games.

The first game played at Turner Field was April 4, 1997. The Braves beat the Chicago Cubs 5-4.

Chipper Jones made the first hit in the new park and also stole the first base.

Turner Field seats 50, 097 fans.

The Braves are the only MLB team to win a World Series in 3 different cities. (Boston-1914, Milwaukee-1957, Atlanta, 1995)
