SERVES 18 MAKES TWO 9/23 CM PIE CRUSTS
2 cups all-purpose flour tsp. coarse kosher salt2/3 cup plus 2 tbsp. butter flavor shortening cup ice water, plus extra if necessary
1. Add flour, salt and shortening to mixing bowl, seal and shake, holding bowl and seal. Shake until mixture forms a coarse, mealy texture.2. Sprinkle water over mixture, seal and shake until dough comes together. It will thump on the sides of the bowl. Add more water if necessary. 3. Roll out into two 9/23 cm crusts.
