Aims and Objectives of the Project

• Fair and sustainable production of biomass

• To improve the efficiency of using locally available organic residues and to turn Açaí residues into an asset

• To provide extra income opportunities for the local small-scale Açaí processing industries - the Batedores (3,000)

• To offer extra income opportunities to the local waste pickers – the Collectors (450)

• VBA Association to provide support, training and technical assistance to Batedores and Collectors

• To reduce the existing environmental pollution created by dumped residues in Belém and decrease the emission of greenhouse gas (CH4) in Brazil and Europe
