Quick Tips for OUTDOOR Tuning: • Pitch — Pitch drums in mid-range tuned melodically to achieve a warm resonant sound.

• Damping — Open to moderate damping to achieve a balance between attack and resonance.

Tip: Consider your venue! ‘Boomy’ venues like large stadiums may require additional damping.

Quick Tips for INDOOR Tuning:• Pitch — Pitch drums mid to high in range tuned to maximize projection and articulation.

• Damping — Moderate to heavy damping to emphasize attack and decrease excess resonance.

Tip: Smaller is better! When available, use smaller drums indoors to avoid overbalancing.

Evans MX series bass drum heads allow for limitless tuning options. The chart below will help you better understand how to optimize tuning and damping for your drumline.

STEP 1:Visit InkedByEvans.com to begin.

Select the type of drum head you would like to customize. You can choose drum set heads, marching heads, or create a custom souvenir head or clock.

Simply select “Build it Now” to begin!

STEP 2:

Once you select your product, you can upload a custom graphic, a school logo, or choose from one of our many designs in our image library.

Add text, choose a font, adjust the size, pick a background color…IT’S UP TO YOU!

You can even add a logo from your favoritedrum company from our list of approved logos.

STEP 3:Once you finish your design you will be able to select the size, quantity, and construction of your heads. Select one of Evans™ award winning marching heads.

Pricing on heads 14 - 32 inches is very affordable and includes customization.

Evans MX™ includes a unique tone damping system that can be manipulated by applying individual felt arcs (included) to enhance articulation and focus low-end for both indoor and outdoor marching.
