William Starr Carter, son of Congressman and Mrs. Tim Lee Carter, died at 6 a.m. Saturday' morning at Vadnerbilt Hospital in Nashville of acute undifferentiated leukemia. The disease was diagnosed at Vanderbilt on May 10, 1973. Starr was treated at the M.D. Anderson Hospital and Tumor Institution in Houston and was in remission from 1973 until September 10. 1978, and from shortly thereafter until his death. William Starr Carter, son of Congressman and Mrs. Tim Lee Carter, died at 6 a.m. Saturday' morning at Vadnerbilt Hospital in Nashville of acute undifferentiated leukemia.

The disease was diagnosed at Vanderbilt on May 10, 1973. Starr was treated at the M.D. Anderson Hospital and Tumor Institution in Houston and was in remission from 1973 until September 10. 1978, and from shortly thereafter until his death. He was taken from his Home in Tompkinsville. Ky. and hospitalized at Vanderbilt, Friday, February 18th.

His father is author of the. National Cancer Act of 1971 and one of the

, Funeral services were conducted Monday, February 21, at 2 p.m. at the First Methodist Church in* Tompkins-ville. Buriaf was in the Carter Family plot in the Evans' Oak Hill Cemetery there.

Funeral services for Mr. Middleton will be conducted Thursday. February 24 at 2 p.m. at the Dowell and Martin Funeral Home Chapel by Bro. Homer McNew and Bro. Hubert Taylor with burial to follow in the Elmwood Cemetery. y The body is at the funeral home
