Kindergarten 100 day party _____________________________________________

PSSA Basketball Knockout _____________________________________________

On the last day of Term 2, Kindergarten celebrated being

at school for 100 days. When we walked into the shared

area we were greeted with 100 balloons. A magic golden

curtain was hanging in the doorway for us to walk

through.

All activities for the day were centred around the number

100. We counted out groups of 10 stickers, 10 stamps,

10 thumbprints etc to make a book of 100 things. It was

so much fun !

We were very lucky to enjoy a delicious cake for morning

tea. Even our PE consisted of activities in groups of ten—

10 squats, 10 star jumps, 10 hops. We made crowns and

wore 100 day badges.

Our teachers took a photo and aged it so that we looked

100 years old. They were very funny!

We had such a wonderful day and can’t wait to reach the

next 100 days at school.

Friday 27 July saw two Tumut Public basketball teams

head to Narrandera for Round 5 of the NSW PSSA

Basketball Knockout competition. The girls played first,

losing to Narrandera 41-12. The score however, did not

reflect how well the team played. The girls showed

increased confidence as the game went on leading to

impressive attacking skills and strong defence against

impressive attacks from Narrandera.

Unfortunately, the boys also suffered a loss, but only

after a nail-biting last quarter which saw the lead change

several times. For a predominately young team, the boys

played extremely well showing skills and teamwork way

above their age level. Final score was 24-22.

The players would like to thank Jason Beavan for giving

up his time to coach the teams. Thanks also to Mrs

Pearce and the parents for their wonderful support

throughout the competition.

Year 3 Learning _____________________________________________

_____________________________________________

Year 3 have been displaying what great learners they are.

They have been very keen to learn in STEAM lessons as

they enjoy solving problems in small groups. Last term

Year 3 used “Dash and Dot” robots and coding skills to

completed challenges. They designed and made a scoop

attachment, drew up grids and plotted their courses

around their “planets”.

Creating artworks is always enjoyable for everyone.

All students are trying to improve their writing skills by

using sizzling starts and interesting vocablulary. A few

excerpts from students writing are below:

THE INCREDIBLE CARPET RIDE

She felt the wind hit her face. The people below seemed

small compared to her. Even though she floated above

the crowded city she suddenly felt alone. The tall tower

looked bigger than ever. She knew what the feeling was,

it was Freedom ! - Seri Mooketsi

She was free as she floated above the crowded city on a

LAND OF IMAGINATION

“Wow” she thought to herself as she walked through the

enticing door. She saw lovely green trees, bright yellow

lights and a long stream running rapidly past.—Maggie

SURPRISED MOUSE

It was there! It was right there! Holy Cheese ! My jaw was

open my head was high. It was the same thing I had been

waiting for my whole life. I was overloaded with

excitement. My little red nose had never been this high.—

BECAUSE OF HER WE CAN

Ash Barty is a young, dynamic person who achieved

greatness. She is a strong, good influence for indigenous

children. She shows commitment and dedication.

My opinion is that Ash is a strong influential woman. She

sets a good example for people playing sport and for

religious and cultural beliefs and for justice. She is

inspirational for sports such as cricket, tennis and more. So,

because of her we can all be motivated and inspired.
