Tullibigeal Central School Newsletter
Welcome back Year 3-6, oh how we’ve missed you! The playground feels so much more full and active again. It has been wonderful hearing all about their experiences in Sydney and what a great time they all had, even Miss Pearce and Mr Small thoroughly enjoyed themselves. The students were great ambassadors for Tullibigeal Central School and always displayed the PBL values of Respect, Responsibility and Resilient.
Professional Learning This week Miss Fitzpatrick, a PBL External Coach (supporting PBL in schools other than her own), visited on Monday, from Parkes to work with the Staff and Students about PBL at TCS. She was busy with Miss Bell assisting with making plans for the next steps at TCS and sharing ideas and her experiences when she was a PBL Internal Coach (supporting PBL within the same school) like Miss Bell. Miss Fitzpatrick also spoke with a variety of staff and students gaining their valuable feedback about PBL at TCS. Today TCS hosted the Lachlan Access Program (LAP) Management Meeting where Mr Small, Mrs Dillon and myself attended and assisted with the planning of and implementation of LAP for the future. Mr West will be off to Lake Cargelligo Central School to participate in a LAP planning day for Legal and Business studies. These days are great opportunities for colleagues to share knowledge and to build on their skills for teaching and learning for students.
Miss Ward will be going to Griffith for L3 training on Thursday where she will have the opportunity to network with colleagues who are also training in this program. Thursday will also see Miss Bell, Mrs Dillon, Miss Pearce, Mrs Helyar, Miss Goldthorpe and Mr West participate in PBL reloaded training as they are the Leadership team for TCS. This training is to not only refresh their knowledge but to provide staff with up to date knowledge and developments in PBL.
All Things Curriculum The National Tree Planting Day items arrived this week enabling students to help Mrs Hague and Miss Ward to plant the vegetable seedlings provided from Jeffery Toyota in Forbes. Each student received a free t-shirt and gloves which were provided for planting. It was a cold and miserable day however the students showed great resilience and got on with the job.

Primary News
Last Friday afternoon saw the remaining students participate in Skipping for sport. It was fantastic to see all students getting in and giving it a go! It was obvious how much fun they were having as you could hear laughter and giggles throughout the playground. I even gave it a go! I was a bit nervous but the students were very encouraging and skipped along with me. Bus duty flew by as the High School students roped myself and Miss Goldthorpe into helping with the large skipping rope as they played ‘Miss a Loop’, where they continuously ran in, jumped, and ran out again one after the other. It was very impressive and intense! Ag Show Team Last Saturday was the Condobolin Show where Finlay, Grace, Braden, Tayah, Riley, Damon, Tahlia and Dylan paraded cattle under Miss Goldthorpe’s supervision. I would like to say thank you to Telea Imrie, Michelle Bendall, Darrin and Terrie Payne, Mandy Glasgow, Mel Crawford and Gerry Haase for all of their support and encouragement during this event and a HUGE thank you to Barry Dillon for carting the cows back to TCS Saturday afternoon. A special mention goes to Grace for receiving 1st
Place in her age group (14-16yrs) and also as Reserve Champion, 14 years and over. A special mention to Braden who received 2nd Place in the 11-13 years’ age group.
All students are to be commended on their efforts as they paraded really well on the day and for their commitment to the team.
This Saturday 3rd September a team of students will be off to Lake Cargelligo Show. Keep up the amazing work, you’re all doing a wonderful job! Enjoy your week!

3 – 6 Sydney Excursion
My favourite thing about Sydney was spending time at Narrabeen Sport and Recreation, because there were a lot of activities to do. My favourite activity was rock climbing and my least favourite thing was visiting Taronga Zoo, because it was raining all day.
Squirrel
Sydney was great fun! I thought the zoo wasn’t the best because it rained all day and some of the enclosures were closed, so we didn’t see all of the animals. My favourite part was Aladdin because it was funny, good and warm.
Damon
My favourite thing in Sydney was when we were walking around the city and I saw a mime. He looked fake, he had a mask on and his body was covered in silver spray paint. I gave him 50c; he gave me a high five and shook my hand. My second favourite thing was going to the football, Bulldogs vs. Cowboys. My third pick, would be laser tag, it was awesome fun. I also enjoyed when we went on the bush walk and built a fire and

made damper, it was cool. Lastly I liked when we done rock climbing. The worst thing was when we hopped off the ferry and I left my bag on it, with 73 dollars and my Ipad in it. It was scary but Miss Pearce ran and got my bag back luckily.
Jack Henschke
Last week we went to Sydney for our school excursion. I think my favourite parts of the trip were, watching Aladdin, playing the recorder at the Opera House and playing laser tag. On Thursday night we watched the Bulldogs and the Cowboys play. The Cowboys won, I was cheering for them.
Emma Bendall The best part of the excursion was going to Belmore Oval to watch the Bulldog and Cowboys. The funniest part of the excursion was when we were doing the high ropes and flying fox.
Dylan
My favourite part of the Sydney trip was going to the footy to watch Cowboys and Bulldogs, because I like NRL. I liked it because I got to buy a hat at the merchandise tent at half time.
Bill
The funniest part of the excursion was in Aladdin when Aladdin asked the Genie if he was really from the lamp and he replied with “no I’m from Wagga Wagga, of course I’m from the lamp come on.” The scariest part of the excursion was when we went on a ferry to Circular Quay from Manly and it was rocking a lot. Also when the recorder girls went to the 9D cinema and the roller coaster came of the track and a snake came up close to us and nearly bit us. Water and snow landed on us and bugs bit our legs, it was awesome
Tahlia
The best part of Sydney was the footy, because the Bulldogs played, they are my favourite team and NRL is my favourite sport. I got to see Josh Reynolds and Jonathan Thurston. I also got to buy a Bulldogs football at the merchandise tent at half time.
Blake
My favourite things about Sydney were the football and Aladdin. I loved the football because it was my first time at a live football match and my favourite team was playing (Cowboys). I was really excited. The best part about Aladdin was the funny jokes, beautiful music and amazing props.
Alyssa
My favourite part of our Sydney trip was going to see Aladdin, because the theatre seats were very comfortable and the Genie was so funny. It was a great musical!! It would have taken hours of hard work to master all of the dance moves, timing and the costumes were amazing. Riley
We left on Sunday to go to Sydney for our class excursion. When we got to Sydney we went to Narrabeen to settle into our accommodation. We did actives at Narrabeen like rock climbing bush walking, abseiling and cooking damper. We went into the city for two days; we went to Palm Beach and played laser tag.
Teleah
The thing I enjoyed the most on our Sydney excursion was playing laser skirmish. I liked it because we got to run round in a dark cool room. The scariest part of the excursion was the day we went on the ferry and it was rocking a lot, it felt like we were going to fall into the sea.
Elly
Last Sunday we went to Sydney. The first two days
we spent at Narrabeen. On Wednesday we went
into the city. First we went to Taronga Zoo, and then
we went to Madame Tussauds. After that we played
laser skirmish, it was good fun! Then we went to
Aladdin. On Thursday we went to Palm Beach, then
we went to Thursday night footy and we watched
North Queensland Cowboys play Bulldogs at their
home ground. The Bulldogs lost 24-16. My favourite
part of the trip was laser skirmish. The worst part
was when the Bulldogs lost and the funniest part
was Aladdin.

Stage 5 Subject Selections Elective choices for Stage 5 students in 2017 need to be returned this week. As stated in the selection booklet, these subjects do not influence what may be studied in Years 11 and 12 and therefore should be chosen as interests of the students.
Year 11 Yearly Exams Please find attached the exam timetable for the Preliminary Yearly Exams which will run in Week 9 of this term. Best of luck to students who should be using these two weeks to complete study to optimise their marks in the last assessment before entering their HSC year.

one of the best ways to grow a child’s
interest in the wonderful world of
books. We encourage students to read
with a family member for at least 10
minutes every day.
All primary students have been given a reading log to take part in reading in August. We encourage all students to become involved and get reading! Reading logs are to be returned by 5th September for you to receive a mystery prize. If you have any questions, please see Miss Hannah for further details.
