LATAR BELAKANG

Perkembangan zaman menuntut kemajuan di segala bidang kehidupan, terutama bidang

teknologi informasi. Komputer yang bukan lagi barang asing sudah menjamur dimana-mana. Kebutuhan

akan komputer semakin meningkat mengingat modernisasi aktivitas kehidupan manusia. Saat ini hampir

seluruh bidang kehidupan memerlukan bantuan komputer. Komputer memiliki fungsi yang sangat

universal dan dapat meringankan pekerjaan manusia. Komputer memiliki kelebihan dalam hal

kecepatan dan ketelitian. Komputer dapat memproses data dengan cepat, dapat memudahkan

pekerjaan dalam bidang menghitung maupun mendesain gambar. Komputer juga dapat memudahkan

manusia dalam melakukan komunikasi tanpa dibatasi jarak dan waktu. Bisa dikatakan komputer telah

memasuki seluruh lingkup kehidupan kita.

Sehubungan dengan hal itu, penting bagi kita semua untuk mempunyai pengetahuan yang

cukup mengenai komputer. Salah satu pengetahuan penting mengenai komputer yang baik untuk kita

ketahui adalah pengetahuan mengenai perakitan atau perancangan hardware komputer. Komputer

terdiri dari berbagai komponen. Prosesor, Mainboard, VGA dan Harddisk merupakan contoh hardware

dalam sebuah komputer. Penting bagi kita untuk mengetahui spesifikasi sebuah hardware komputer.

Dengan mempunyai pengetahuan yang cukup mengenai hal tersebut, kita dapat merakit komputer

sesuai dengan spesifikasi yang kita butuhkan. Selain itu, kita juga dapat menyesuaikan desain rakitan

tersebut dengan budget yang kita miliki. Penting untuk kita menyesuaikan antara kebutuhan dan

budget, dengan memiliki pengetahuan yang cukup kita dapat meminimalisir budget yang kita keluarkan

tetapi tetap mendapat spesifikasi terbaik untuk kebutuhan kita.

Ada beberapa hal harus diperhatikan dalam perancangan sebuah komputer. Yang pertama

adalah kita harus menyesuaikan spesifikasi dengan keperluan kita. Apakah untuk desain grafis atau

gaming ataukah programming, dll. Yang kedua adalah mengenai kompatibilitas hardware tersebut.

Semua hardware dalam komputer berkaitan satu sama lain, sehingga perlu adanya kompatibilitas antar

hardware. Sebagai contoh, jika kita berencana akan menggunakan Prosesor Intel I7 2600K, maka kita

perlu mainboard dengan socket prosesor LGA1155 karena jika tidak sesuai prosesor itu tidak dapat

digunakan. Dan yang terakhir adalah mengenai budget. Kita harus dapat menyesuaikan budget kita

dengan kebutuhan kita.

TUJUAN

Adapun tujuan dalam penyusunan makalah ini adalah:

- menambah wawasan dalam perancangan sebuah komputer agar dapat bekerja sesuai

kebutuhan dan budget kita

- menuntut untuk selalu up to date dalam perkembangan teknologi terutama spesifikasi

hardware komponen komputer

Alasan: Intel Core I7 merupakan kelas processor seri core dari Intel Corporation yang terbaru. Mengapa saya memilih Intel? Memang dewasa ini ada dua perusahaan semikonduktor yang bersaing dalam memproduksi processor, yaitu AMD dan Intel. Keduanya memiliki kelebihan dan kekurangan masing-masing. Dalam hal kebutuhan multimedia dan programming, Intel lebih unggul dibanding AMD. Namun dari kebutuhan grafis, AMD lebih ungul. Dari kebutuhan daya, Intel lebih hemat daya, karena membutuhkan daya di bawah 100 Watt, sedangkan AMD di atasnya, sehingga tidak heran AMD lebih cepat panas. Namun dalam masalah harga, AMD lebih terjangkau dibanding Intel, namun itu tidak menjadi masalah, karena yang lebih diutamakan adalah kinerjanya. Arsitektur perancangan mikroprosesor Intel yang memanfaatkan teknologi Virtualization, Hyper Threading, serta Turbo Boost

dianggap mampu secara signifikan mengangkat kecepatan dan kinerja. Ditambah lithography dengan ukuran 32 nm dan 22 nm juga disinyalir mampu menghemat daya serta lebih membuat stabil panas prosesor.

Alasan: Seperti yang telah dibahas pada latar belakang, bahwa hardware harus kompatibel, artinya

cocok dan saling berkaitan. Karena mainboard saya rancang mengunakan Gigabyte, maka VGA Card pun

sama dari Gigabyte, yaitu Gigabyte Nvidia GV-N420-2GI (GeForce GT 420). Mengapa Nvidia? Karena

Nvidia mempunya fitur physx yang berfungsi agar tampilan pada game yang anda mainkan terlihat lebih

jernih dan jelas. Hal ini di karenakan saat proses mengolah data game di pindahkan ke GPU physx dan

hanya bekerja pada grafik Geforce High End, dan jika AMD memiliki fitur seperti ini tetapi

pengolahannya di bebankan pada CPU. VGA Nvidia hebat dalam memainkan game dirext 11 namun

kurang saat memainkan game berbasis dirext 9 dan 10 daripada AMD Radeon. Ke dua grafik tersebut

masing-masing mempunyai arsitektur yang berbeda, sehingga mempunyai kelebihan dan kekurangan

yang berbeda pula.
