WALKING SEMINARAS part of this years ‘Mayo in Motion’ promotion, Th e Mayo Walking Part-nership Group will host its fi rst ever Walking Seminar in the Mulranny Park Hotel on Wednesday the June 8. Th is seminar is aimed at groups, individu-als interested in walking and trail development. Th e seminar is also aimed at individuals working in the tourism trade. Ultimately the aim of this ini-tiative is about growing walking within the county for 2011. BIKE WEEK 2011Following the great success of Bike Week in 2010, in which over 500 people participated in 13 diff erent events, Mayo Sports Partnership / Mayo County Council invited applications from groups / clubs throughout the county to organise participation events during Bike Week which takes place from June 18 to June 26. INTRODUCTIONSINCE 2007 Mayo Walking Partner-ship has been hugely involved in the promotion and development of walk-ing and cycling trails throughout Mayo.
Membership of the Partnership includes representatives from Mayo County Council, South West Devel-opment Company, Mayo North East Leader Partnership Teo, Failte Ireland, Coillte, Teagasc, Farming Represent-ative Bodies, Mayo Sports Partner-ship, Community Forum & Other Stakeholders. Th is advertisement aims to provide you with information about participation opportunities for all types of walking / cycling in the county. THE annual Burrishoole Walking Festival, takes place over the June Bank Holiday weekend (June 4 to 6). Th ere will be a variety of guided walks on off er each day which will include both low and high level. Th ere will also be a guided walk along a sect ion of the newly developed Great Western Greenway. Registration will take place each morn-ing at 10am from Derradda Community Centre.
Directions:Derrada Community Cen-tre is located approximately 5km from Newport Town. Follow the N59 in the direct ion of Mallarannry until you reach a road junct ion on your right (signposted Derradda Community Centre). Turn right and follow this road for 500 meters until you arrive at the Community Centre.

Burrishoole Walking Festival 2011
Castlebar International Four Days Walks 2011THE Castlebar International Four Days Walks were established in 1967 and since that time have attract ed walkers from all over the world. Our walks off er a wide choice of routes to suit all levels of fi tness. On each of the four days of the festival, which runs from June 30 to July 3, we have a 10km, 20km, and 40km road walk and a ramble of approximately six hour duration. Th e Wel-come Inn Hotel on New Antrim street is our headquar-ters for the festival. All walks and rambles start and fi n-ish at the hotel.
START TIMES8.30am - 10km, 20km and 40km road walks9am - The Ramble Hours (this year we will be heading to the Newport area for two of the Rambles).
All walkers are requested to check back to the Registration desk before 4.30pm.
Th e festival starts on the Wednesday evening with an informal get-together where walkers can register and there is also a short but important briefi ng.
