● Morning: Finishing BI intensity studies – BPM versus beam intensity: orbit reading stable from 1011 to 3 1010.– BCT studies with up to 4 nominal bunches 4 1011.– PLL studies with high intensities.– First beam image for Beam 2 V and H from BGI.

● 11:00: Hump studies.– Measuring the beam spectra as function of beam screen cooling (triplet L1 off; triplet R1 off; XL2 off; XR2 off; XL1 off; XL5 off; XR5 off; XL8 off;

XR8 off) No obvious differences observed.

● 13:00: Preparing for access.– Noisy nQPS board in A21L1 requires replacement.– Noisy reading of temperature at current lead of DFBX.R8 – RD1.– QPS card for RCBXH1.R2 requires replacement.– BLM card change and update of logger and concentrator

● Access issues:– Elevator at PM65 is. After talking with the DSO, it is OK to close the machine

and pre-cycle/run. However not access possible to S56 (from Pt 5) or S67 (from Pt 7) until the elevator is fixed.

– A large number of circuits (~30) failed the QPS soft reset in S12 – Performed some collimator checks parallel to pre-cycle: sensor readings for the

minimum gaps were checked. No indication of a large scale error in collimator gap and position monitoring was found (was triggered by yesterday’s TCP/TDI measurements).

● 19:00: Access finished and starting Damper studies– Completed the setting-up of the damper beam position modules for high

intensity 1x1011.– High intensity check of the calibration only done in vertical plane for Beam 2: (Beam loss at the end of the shift due to the switching of BPM intensities for

B1 while a nominal bunch was in B2). – tested new firmware for multi-bunch operation

● 00:00 : Injection/dump protection studies– Local aperture scan at the BPM.31L5.B1: +14.5 mm.– Repeated yesterday's TDI beam size measurement with two different angles:

With an angle of +/-1 mrad anti-parallel for both jaws the beam size and centre up and downstream was measured for different n-sigma settings of the TCP.

– In the case of +1 mrad angles the centers are slightly different (150 mm) and the beam size is increased while for the -1 mrad case the measured centers remain and beam size remain unchanged.

● 04:00 : Starting RF bunch length studies– Can not change the Beam Mode: stayed with "injection physics beam".– 04:49: Starting the ramp.– 05:08: starting longitudinal emittance blow-up.

● Open Issues.– Elevator at PM65 is. After talking with the DSO, it is OK to close the machine

and pre-cycle/run. However not access possible to S56 (from Pt 5) or S67 (from Pt 7) until the elevator is fixed.

– A large number of circuits (~30) failed the QPS soft reset in S12 – ELQA needed on one V tap for current lead of RQS.A12.B2 (lost redundancy).

– Multiplier tube for abort gap monitor of Beam 1 requires replacement requires access (but not before the end of the week).

– Sector 78 still requires final tests for validation of 10 A/sec ramp rate requires 1-2 h pre-warning and ca. 1 hour without beam).
