Pelican Cancer Foundation (Pelican stands for Pelvic Liver Cancer), is based in
Basingstoke and has been seed funding colorectal and prostate cancer research for
25 years. Our ethos is helping clinicians make incremental changes in practice that
help their patients live better lives for longer. The charity has run four national
programmes for colorectal multidisciplinary teams and TIPTOP is our first national
urology programme.
TIPTOP is funded with charity funds, industry sponsorship and charitable donations
including a £30,000 grant thanks to a bowel cancer patient).
This meeting has been part sponsored by Ferring Pharmaceuticals’ Ipssen Lts and
Aspire Pharma.
Greater Manchester Cancer is the organisation coordinating cancer care across
Greater Manchester and Eastern Cheshire, from prevention, screening, primary care
through to secondary care and hospice/palliative care. This has led to the formation
of a dedicated regional cancer plan (2015-20) which is now in the delivery phase.
