    Tuberculosis testing in Nigeria

    1. Approved test clinicsYou m ust be tested for tuberculosis if you are com ing to the UK for m ore than 6 m onths and a resident of Nigeria or Benin.

    Your test m ust be from a clinic approved by the Hom e Off ice. We will not accept a tuberculosis test certif icate from a clinic wehavent approved.

    The following are approved clinics in Nigeria. There are no approved clinics in Benin, so if youre from there youll need to travelto Nigeria to be tested.

  • 2. Attending the clinicYou should contact the above approved clinic to book an appointm ent. You should m ake it clear that you need the test for a UKvisa application. You can expect to get an appointm ent within a few days of your request. At busy tim es you m ay have to wait 10days for an appointm ent, especially during the UK student visa peak season between June and Septem ber. We cannot arrangeor prioritise appointm ents for you.

    3. What you should bring with you

    proof of identif ication, which contains your photograph, preferably your passport;

    tuberculosis test fee; and

    if you have had tuberculosis in the past or have any other lung disease you should provide details of your previousscreening and, if possible, your m edical notes and x-ray results.

    If you would like an appointm ent with a fem ale clinician, please inform the clinic when you schedule your appointm ent.

    If you need to cancel your appointm ent you should contact the clinic and refer to their cancellation policy and procedure.

    4. Test feesThe fee for tuberculosis screening is 130 US Dollars (or its equivalent in Naira). The fee will be payable in local currency at theprevailing exchange rate advised by the IOM. You will pay the IOM directly for the cost of your tuberculosis test. The cost of thetest is in addition to the visa application fee.

    The test fee does not cover treatm ent if you have tuberculosis.
