All of Temple’s QA/RA graduate courses meet for 36 hours during the semester. They emphasize critical thinking skills, which can be described as the ability to analyze and critique an argument. (What are the sources? Are they credible? Is the argument well-made or are there glaring deficiencies and inconsistencies? What is the larger context in which the argument is being made? Is the author taking a provincial or universal view?) Critical thinking skills are developed over time. An excellent academic curriculum should be designed in a way that teaches basic concepts and principles first, then enables students to apply those skills as they study more advanced electives. Temple’s QA/RA program is regarded as the foremost academic curriculum of its kind in the world. Tuition is set by the University’s Board of Trustees and is in keeping with Temple’s tradition of quality education at an affordable cost. The cost of many one-day seminars and non-credit courses is often $1,500 - $2,000. While they may offer excellent insights into current issues and trends, day-long seminars cannot compare with the in-depth, focused learning provided in Temple’s QA/RA graduate courses, which meet for an entire semester. Our students aren’t just made familiar with terms and jargon of the industry; they achieve a much deeper understanding of why quality must be present in every aspect of industry practice, becoming thoroughly familiar with pertinent regulations at the national and international levels. This depth of learning can only be achieved by participating in a series of courses that build upon one another over time. Our graduates attest to the excellence of our program. They continue to be leaders in their companies and organizations. Approxi- mately 125 students receive the MS in QA/RA from Temple University each year. We welcome you to join this elite group to help shape the industry and government agencies in the 21 st century.
