Term 4: Week 8, 2010 Term 4: Week 8, 2010 Term 4: Week 8, 2010 Term 4: Week 8, 2010 Our Primary students thoroughly enjoyed their excursion, which included visits to the Powerhouse Museum and Schools Spectacular as well as their monorail ride, and walk around the city and Darling Harbour area. The background work our students undertook on simple machines and further guidance from Mr Mitchell meant that they were able to understand and appreci-ate the Marvellous Machines exhibition. The monorail ride and visit to the Queen Victoria Building to see the giant Christ-mas tree was also a hit while the walk around Darling Harbour gave the children a chance to see some of the tourist and learning opportunities available to them. The Maritime Museum with its ships, submarine and replica of the Endeavour fascinated the students. The Schools Spectacular was the highlight of our excursion with an amazing array of talent from over 3 500 students from NSW public schools. We were dazzled by the quality of the singers, choirs, dancers and bands. We thank Mr Darren Mitchell our male chaperone and Mrs Sally Wilson for their assistance. Lessons start on Monday afternoon with Yrs 2-6 attending a five day intensive course at Crookwell Pool. This year with changes to the Department of Education and Training ’ s requirements for supervision our Kindergarten and Year 1 students will remain at the school for regular lessons. If any students have not returned their permission notes they will be unable to attend swimming lessons. Monday morning is the last opportunity to return notes. The Laggan Public School Festive Fete is definitely going ahead tomorrow, Saturday 4 December from 1:30pm. With the extremely wet weather we are currently experiencing, the stalls will be situated in the school hall and COLA area. Please come along and support the P&C and school - we look forward to seeing you all!

Presentation NightPresentation NightPresentation NightPresentation Night Last night ’ s Presentation Evening was a wonderful opportunity to showcase our children ’ s achievements and talents, with everyone from K-6 giving their best. It was a pleasure to watch the performances our children have been so keenly practising this term and to have them receive such appreciative applause from the audience. We would like to thank all our families, community members and special guest, Mr Colin Emerson who attended. We also thank our generous sponsors for their support in providing prizes for the special categories and to the P&C for sponsoring the general book prizes. With all the staff involved in the productions and presentations we were unable to take photographs and would ask our families to contact the school if you have photos we would be able to publish in the final newsletter of the year.
