DAY 5 Train from Beijing to LhasaVisit the Summer Palace, with a relaxing boat ride onthe beautiful Kunming Lake. Stop for photos at theBirds Nest Stadium and Water Cube. Visit theHutongs, for a personal insight into the everyday life oftraditional Beijing citizens. Transfer to the station toboard the train for the pioneering and exciting railjourney to Lhasa.

DAY 6 Aboard the TrainEnjoy a day aboard the train, travelling along the highest railway line in the world, admiring magni�centlandscapes of mountain peaks, ice rivers, glaciers and desert. DAY 8 Potala PalaceVisit the 13-story Potala Palace, winter home of theDalai Lama since the 7th century. This will be followedby a visit to the 1,300 year old Jokhang Temple and themaze-like Barkhor Market in the heart of the city.

DAY 9 Norbulingka PalaceVisit the Norbulingka Palace, built in 1755. It served asthe traditional summer residence for the Dalai Lamas.This afternoon, enjoy a visit to the Sera Monastery, oneof Tibet’s ‘great three’ Gelukpa university monasteries.

DAY 10 Lhasa to Gyantse and ShigatseMorning drive to Palcho Monastery in Gyantse.Continue towards Shigatse, the second largest city inTibet and visit the Tashi Lhunpo Monastery, anextremely important monastery historically andculturally, it was founded in 1447 by the �rst DalaiLama. Continue to your accommodation for anovernight stay.

DAY 12 Kye RongDrive towards the Kye Rong border point for overnight.(Travel time approx 7 hours).
