he summer of 2014 was filled with many unexpected suprises for me unfortunatlly the bad out numbered the good, but all things worked out well or will work out well. I

applogize for not being able to keep up with the newsletter but I was physically unable to continue. By the time you read this newsletter I will have completed 576 hours of Chemotharapy 96 straite hours every three weeks. That means one week in the

hospital and two weeks at home for 6 sessions, if everything goes as planned I will be cancer free at my next Pet Scan. I feel good and know I will beat this with the help of God and all the people praying for me. Although I was unable to attend this year’s Regional (the first time in 18 years), I have coverage from Cris and Rick Bowes, and pictures from Carl Waters of the 17th Annual Northeast Chapter Regional Meet in “Feathered Friends” starting on page 7. Coverage of the Migration starts on page 9 and the FCA 2014 Nationals coverage in Kansas City starts on page 11. Well it’s time to say thank you to all for your well wishes thoughts and prayers, I will see you all at our 2015 Nationals or sooner at our next meeting (See page 4 for info). Remembe the real thrill of any FCA Regional or National event is not taking home “The Gold” but the friends you will make and the ones you have made in the past.

PRESIDENTS MESSAGE Hi Everyone,

We are looking for the sunshine we are hoping it will be here in time for our March meeting. It will be held on Saturday, March 21st at the Sturbridge Host Hotel. We will meet for dinner at the Oxhead Tavern at 4:30 and have the meeting in the hotel in the Dudley Room at approximately 6:00-6:30, as soon as we finish dinner. We would like to have as many people join us as possible as we need to go over items for the National Meet. Please email or call me to let me know if you will be able to make the meeting. Cris has to give the Oxhead Tavern a count by Monday, March16th so they know how many people to plan for call 401-823-1059 or e-mail [email protected].

Our 2015 National Falcon Club of America Convention is already shaping up to be a fun

filled event. We have set up a cruise to the beach as well as visits to Factory Five Racing and Tasca Automotive, The Breakers Mansion in Newport, and Jonathan Edwards Winery in nearby North Stonington, CT. We have gotten a few phone calls from people offering to help with the National Show. Even if we have not gotten back to you, we definitely got your message and need your help. CRUISE TO THE OCEAN STATE

Well, we are still overloaded with snow and it does not seem like it is going to let up any time soon. Spring should be here in a couple of weeks and you would never know it by looking outside. We need sunshine and warm temperatures. I do not know when we will be able to get into our carport to get to the cars. They may be locked in there until May!

While we wait for better weather, we have been busy with reservations for the show as well as the tours. We have received nearly 75 reservations as of the end of February with more coming in every week. The Ladies Tea on Thursday, July 9th is filling up nicely. We already have nearly 30 ladies’ signed up. The Newport and Mansion tour on Friday morning July 10th has nearly 30 people also and is limited to 50 people. The winery tour on Friday afternoon July 10th still has some space available but is limited to 30 people. Checks for these events may be included with your registration. Please put a note letting us know for what the extra payment is. If you have already sent in your registration and would like to sign up for a tour, please send payment ($20.00) for the Ladies’ Tea, to Cristine Bowes, 245 South Main St., Coventry, RI 02816. If you would like to sign up for the Newport tour ($30/adults $20/children) or the Winery tour ($25.00), please send payment to Denise Warburton, 740 Tunk Hill Rd., Hope, RI 02831. All checks should be made payable to Northeast Chapter FCA.

We also have a tour of Factory Five Racing scheduled for Thursday morning, July 9th and a visit to Tasca Ford on Thursday afternoon. These are self-driving tours. I know it will be impressive to see so many beautiful Falcons drive in to either of these great locations.

Donations have been coming in for our raffles. Watch the FCA Newsletter for a full list of vendors who have made donations. We will try to update it but be sure to check out the raffles at the show! We have been sent some items from individual club members as well as being told others would be coming in at the show. If there is something, you would like to donate, please let us know. We are also looking for donations for the daily door prize drawings. If you have something, you would like to contribute to the door prizes that would be greatly appreciated also.

Remember, when making your hotel reservations be sure to mention the Falcon Club and our group code, FBF. The hotel is already about 2/3 filled. If you have not made your reservations yet, what are you waiting for?

ell, another Regional Meet is in the books and I have to say we had a very successful Falcon Show this year! On Saturday we had 53 Falcons in attendance. We had a few other members that joined us but were not able to bring their cars. We have been assured they will be at the National Meet in July 2015. The weather

could not have been better and our day by the lake was beautiful! When you put the cars, the weather, the location, and the wonderful friends that join us every year together, we had a perfect weekend.
