– Public alert message over cellular is being provided only in 2G– No alert services in 3G networks such as WCDMA and HSPA– Provision of 800MHz band LTE commercial service by two

operators (SKT and LG U+) in Jul. 2011 – Developed standard based on CMAS and will be enforced by

NEMA (National Emergency Management Agency) by 2012

– Recognized M2M as one of 10 future ICT services by the Korean government (May 2010)

– Korea Telco’s(SKT, KT, LGU+) current market size is 1.75 mil. subscribers and potential demand for M2M by 2015 is estimated at 14.5 mil. subscribers

– Major business model is Customized service, Smart & Safety, Intelligent vehicle, Public SOC(Social Overhead Capital)

– Established TTA M2M PG(Dec. 2010) to standardize open M2M platform interface based on commercial mobile communication network
