Pulling force measuring device

Grundolog Type III – optionally with remote data transferTensile forces on the pipe to be installed are sent via remote data transfer directly to the bore rig. Advan-tages: Improved course control during the pipe instal-lation process. Direct ability to influence during the pulling in process. Media and product pipes must not be overstrained taking the permissible tensile forces during pipe installations into consideration, e.g. un-derground installation techniques (also pipe cracking measures GW 321, press-pulling measures GW 323). On demand of the supplying company the in-fluential pulling forces are to be measured and held in a protocol. Measuring is carried out with Grundolog. The new GRUNDOLOG is fitted with a completely new measuring technique, which can be accommo-dated in a shorter and compact housing. The new GRUNDOLOG functions with the modern DMS measuring technology, has a larger data store and larger measuring range with three measuring bodies - depending on pipe diameter from 0 - 80 kN, 0 - 400 kN and 0 - 1250 kN. The advantage is the bandwidth of the measuring range and the measuring precisi-on of 0,1 % from the nominal value, which no the pulling force measuring device can achieve. The light weight and the short structural shape allow a simple assembly and easy handling. The pulling forces can be evaluated and checked at the jobsite via a laptop or PDA or pocket-PC with a special software. On a PDA an intermediate storage is possible, allowing the protocol to be printed out later via a PC or a laptop.

Trenchless cable replacement

Wash-over headEnergy suppliers are increasingly being ordered to free unused or damaged ground cables from the soil or replace them against new ones. TRACTO-TECHNIK has developed a practical and economical solution called the “wash-over method” for the trenchless field. A GRUNDODRILL system is applied in this case. The drill rod is screwed to the patented wash-over head and driven parallel over the old cable.

The old cable provides a compulsory guidance. The wash-over head cuts the old cable free and rinses in equal dis-tances and without contact, from the soil bedding and any possible roots in a tight ring form. In the target pit the old cable can be easily pulled out with a pulling device. Due to the compulso-ry guidance a detection system is not required, but an additional bore path check is recommended maintaining the possibility to react immediately to any deviations of the intended path. The new cable is then installed when pulling the drill rods back in.
