1 President’s Message Wow! What a great turnout at our February luncheon for a delicious lunch at Amore! As I write this, many of you have signed up for our March luncheon at Prestancia, featuring our Turtle Rock Women’s Club member Judy Bentz. She will be giving a presentation on Ukrainian Easter Egg decorating. Members have asked if they can bring their decorated Egg to the presentation. We will have a table up front for you to do so. A description of your egg, including it’s origin, would be wonderful. Looking ahead we have a busy spring…our Succulent’s class on March 13 th and a Polo Match on Sunday, March 18 th . Our April luncheon will be at Mattison’s 41 and our speaker is Anne Miller from the Sarasota County Emergency Management Center. She will do a presentation on hurricane preparedness. This has been a highly requested speaker by our members, and I hope that you can make it before many of you head back up north! We will also have a tour of the 911 center on April 11 th . Look for all of these items and more in the newsletter. A brief note about luncheons…the luncheon committee has asked me to remind you to please be cognitive of the deadline each month. The committee gives a count to the restaurant right after the Wednesday deadline, so the restaurant/country club can begin to order food, assign wait staff, etc. Your help with this would be greatly appreciated! President’s Message

Wow! What a great turnout at our February luncheon for a delicious lunch at Amore! As I write this,

many of you have signed up for our March luncheon at Prestancia, featuring our Turtle Rock Women’s

Club member Judy Bentz. She will be giving a presentation on Ukrainian Easter Egg decorating.

Members have asked if they can bring their decorated Egg to the presentation. We will have a table up

front for you to do so. A description of your egg, including it’s origin, would be wonderful.

Looking ahead we have a busy spring…our Succulent’s class on March 13th and a Polo Match on Sunday,

March 18th. Our April luncheon will be at Mattison’s 41 and our speaker is Anne Miller from the Sarasota

County Emergency Management Center. She will do a presentation on hurricane preparedness. This has

been a highly requested speaker by our members, and I hope that you can make it before many of you

head back up north! We will also have a tour of the 911 center on April 11th. Look for all of these items

and more in the newsletter.

A brief note about luncheons…the luncheon committee has asked me to remind you to please be

cognitive of the deadline each month. The committee gives a count to the restaurant right after the

Wednesday deadline, so the restaurant/country club can begin to order food, assign wait staff, etc. Your

help with this would be greatly appreciated!

Happy Spring…or almost spring!

The TRWC Board has approved the adding a new book group to our TRWC Interest Groups.

What kind? You tell us! Would you like to join a group that focuses on:

Young Mothers?

Couples?

Singles?

Historical Fiction?

Women’s Literature?

Biographies and Memoirs?

Some other group? (whatever you like)

Just let us know! Let us know your wishes in one of two ways:

There is a short survey sitting on the table in the Community Center Library. Complete the survey if

you’d like, and leave it in the envelope right there or just email your name, contact information, and

reading interests to Paula Griffin ([email protected]).

Your response is NOT a commitment. We will compile the responses, send them to all who responded.

Then you can decide what, if anything, you want to do. We can help set up groups to meet when you

want, where you want —day, evening, weekend, with wine, without – it’s all your call. So let us know

what you’d like! Happy Reading!

One idea we are starting now is a BRG (Book Recommendation Group) that meets once a year (with

wine) to share reading recommendations. Our first meeting is planned for Tuesday March 20. Email

[email protected] if you are interested.

Alan and Beryl Perry are celebrating

their 56th wedding anniversary on March 3rd.
