The Trustees Auction raises money to support the maintenance of our church and grounds.
1. This is not a rummage sale, that is for another day so only new or like new items please!
2. Christmas gifts that may have been the wrong size or color.
3. Gift cards that are sitting in your drawers
Drop off items to the church office beginning March 1st.
Dinner tickets will go on sale soon and seating is limited to the first 100!
Plan on wearing green and dancing an Irish Jig

Mark 9:7
Why? It’s an interesting question. “Why?” is the
favorite question of most young children. They’re
curious and want to understand the mysterious things
adults say and do. It’s a sign of growth and learning.
“Why?” can be unhelpful when we use it as a tool to
distance or discriminate ourselves from others. The
question can be used in hurtful, rather than helpful
ways.
“Why?” is helpful when it helps us to better
understand our purpose and motivation. It’s good for
each of us, as members of a community of faith, to
understand our motivation and to be in alignment
with the objectives of the group. Our role and value
become clearer. It helps us to see things that are
outside our understanding, changing the way we view
life and the world.
I believe that’s why Jesus invited Peter, James and
John to the mountain top. The disciples had been
following Jesus for almost three years. They’ve seen
amazing things. They’ve experienced the joy of lives
changed. They’ve been challenged to live a new way,
to follow Jesus even further.
But they still didn’t get it.
Jesus revealed himself to them. They saw a glimpse
of his divinity. They heard God’s voice from the
cloud. God’s Spirit overwhelmed them. They were
in awe and, frankly, scared. It’s one thing to say,
“Jesus is my Lord and Savior.” It’s a whole different
thing to know and experience Jesus in a way that
shakes up your whole life and brings you to your
knees.
I pray you will join us on a journey of prayer during
Lent, focusing on Jesus and not on the challenges of
life.
