IT Training & Support Troubleshooting Digital Dictation Uploads (Olympus)
The following steps cover the various ways to check that dictations have been uploaded correctly from portable
Dictaphone machines
1. Check that the folders in the ODMS Dictation Module software are configured correctly:
Click on the Folder Settings icon in the Dictation Tree
Select Download Tray and check that Auto Download is set as Yes
In the Download Tray menu, select Folder C. Make sure the Path is set to \\Lanier01\OlyJobsToImport
and the format conversion is PCM. 8.00 kHz, 16 bit, mono, Original Deletion

2. Check the General Options in the ODMS Dictation Module software:
Click on the Tools menu
Select Options from the listing
In the Options Settings window, click on the Workflow tab
Select Download from the Workflow menu. Make sure Do not display the main window and After
downloading file(s), delete the original file(s) are both checked

3. General Troubleshooting if you can’t find your dictations:
If files have an MP3 extension instead of WAV then they will not upload. You can convert the file by
clicking on it to highlight (hold down CTRL to select multiple files) then selecting Convert from the menu
This window will display, where the correct WAV format can be selected
Files will not upload to the system if you cannot access the Lanier01 server. You can check access to the
server by browsing to \\Lanier01 (Start > Run > \\Lanier01)
