BornandraisedinDetroit,Tyliceebeganwritingattheyoungageof10,creatingworldsandcharacters thatwouldhelp feedher imagination.
Earlyonshespreadhercreativewritingwingsintoamorestrictjournalisticformofwritingafterfindingagenerallikingforinvestigativeandinformativereporting.Stillshewentbacktoherfirstloveofcreativewritingandbeganto write songs for a local all male singing group. Eventually the groupfellapartbut she foundaway tocontinuehercreativewritingendeavorsand add another element to her portfolio. In 1999 she joined the staff ofSpotlightEntertainmentMagazineinDetroit.Exposedtotheworldofmusicentertainmentonanationalandinternationallevel,TyliceeinterviewedthelikesofDonnellJonesandJoJoandKCiofJodeci.Thisexperiencegarneredanewfoundpassionforentertainmentwritingandafteronlyoneyearsheknewthatthiswashercalling.Fromthatmomentonshesetouttocreateherownentertainmentmagazinethatwouldcombineherfirstlovewithhernewloveandinthefallof2000,PoetryHouseEntertainment®wasborn.
FromPoetryHouseEntertainment®,PoeticallySpeakingDetroit™wasborninthefallof2007.Theideacamefromthedesiretoshowcasetheurbanopenmicpoet.Theurgetoprovidealargeraudienceforthosewhotooktheircraftintothesmokeybarsandafterhourclubswasinstantaneousafterwatchingoneafteranothersignalistthatwentwellafterthemidnighthour.Theseartistswerepassionateandextremelytalentedanddeservedtobecelebratedinawaythathadnotyetbeenprovided.PoeticallySpeaking™wastobethatspotlight.
