woodlands at the head of the Chesapeake Bay and boasts over a mile of prime bay frontage.

– Rodney is located in Cecil County Maryland, only a short drive from I-95 and MD RT-40 in the town of North East, MD.

Cost

• Traditional Week of Scout Camp– $360 if paid by May 1– $385 thereafter

• High Adventure Sailing– $770 is due by March 1– Need to be 14 years old by day of trip

Overview

• 3 Day Event – Trip to NYC– Friday will need to be taken off from school– Letter to be provided for absence by Troop

• Friday– Walking Tour of Southern Manhattan (Financial

District)• Saturday– Walking Tour of Mid-Town Manhattan

• Sunday– Statue of Liberty/Ellis Island – Flushing Meadows Corona Park

Accommodations

• 2 Cabins at Scout Camp Pouch on Staten Island– Yelling distance of each other (Black Oak and Pin Oak)

• Each Cabin Sleeps 20• Gas Heat• No separate accommodations for woman• No running water in cabins• Latrines are hole in the ground– Flush toilets at Maple and Beech Cabin area

• Cars not allowed to cabins

Black Oak - This large cabin is situated in the middle of our camp. It is right in the middle of all of our activities. It sleeps 20 people comfortable. It is a rustic style with water and latrine near by. It comes equipped with stove top burners, heaters, dining tables and a fireplace. If additional space is needed Pin Oak and Little Acorn cabins are right near by.

Pin Oak - This large cabin is situated in the middle of our camp. It is right in the middle of all of our activities. It sleeps 20 people comfortable. It is a rustic style with water and latrine near by. It comes equipped with stove top burners, heaters, dining tables and a fireplace. If additional space is needed Black Oak and LittleAcorn cabins are right near by.

Friday March 15 Tentative Agenda• Assemble Scout room 7AM• Leave for Staten Island 7:30 and arrive at 10:30 @ Pouch Scout Camp• Unpack and drive to ferry 10:30-11:30• Ferry to Manhattan 11:30 – 12, eating lunch on ferry• Arrive at 9/11 Memorial @ 1 for 1:30 admission (reservation number is 1260979)• Other items to visit

– South Street Sea Port– Battery Park– Wall Street– Brooklyn Bridge– Trinity Church– Federal Hall– St Paul Chapel

• Return to Camp around 7 for a late dinner

• Quick breakfast and off to ferry by 8– Also need to make brown bag lunches for the

day

• Arrive lower Manhattan by 9• Subway to Madison Square Garden by 9:30• Walking tour of mid-town Manhattan

• 3 Day Event in NYC– Will see parts of 4 of 5 boroughs

• Manhattan, Brooklyn, Staten Island and Queens (not Bronx)

• A lot of walking• There will be times when the boys will have

freedom to roam– Buddy system will be used– Request cell phone numbers of boys and authority to

call
