Can you believe it is February already? It has been an exciting couple of

months in the local transportation world with the recent SANDAG On-Call

Contracts followed by the Caltrans District 11 Contracts. It is time to get out

of the office, celebrate your victories, and j oin your fellow transportation

colleagues at the next ASCE Transportation Gr oup meeting!

On February 15th, we will start the year with

an exciting presentation by Joshua Reese and Gerard Chadergian of

Caltrans who will be speaking about the I-15 Managed Lanes. They

have a lot to share about this billion dollar project and what lies ahead

for the Route 15 corridor.

We’d like to extend special recognition to our sponsoring companies

whose business cards are included in this newsletter. Their generous

donations allow us to continue our exciting transportation specific

programs and help fund the student scholarships and our annual

summer social.

Thanks again for your support and participation in the ASCE

Transportation Group. We hope to see you all on February 15th!

Reminder: We have decided to forego the $10 additional

Transportation Group membership fee this year in hopes of eliminating

confusion that this has caused in the past. As a result, the normal

luncheon cost will be $25 for every meeting except that students and

public agency employees can still attend for $10.

Regards,

Craig Shannon, P.E.
