� Labor rights or workers' rights are a group of legal
rights and claimed human rights having to do
with labor relations between workers and their
employers, usually obtained under labor andemployment law.

WORKERS CHOPPING IN THE
HOTELS STARTED
Hervo Clup Sirena Hotel, located in
Antalya Belek, had a contract with its
workers while recruiting that the workers
would work 12 months but at the end of
the season, 100 of 350 workers in the
hotel were set in front of the door justclaiming the seasonal issue without being
informed before . In addition, they could
not take their payments and any
compensation. They are now
unemployment and at this season it will
be hard for them to find a new job. Willwe continue to see the same finals,
injustice and exploitation in tourism?

Oleys Unon : 5 Star Hotels
in Blocking Unionization
OLEYIS announced that some 5 star
hotels are blocking unionization of
the labor and iy claims that thegovernment wants to reduce the fight
of the labor. It says that if you do not
want work, there are lots of people
who are ready to work for this
payment and so they are continuing
to exploit the labor force in tourism

Tourism workers protested
their boss in front of his
house.2009The workers of Queen ElizabethHotel, located in Göynük, Antalya,protested their boss due to the factthat they could not take theirpayment and compensation for 2months. One of the workers
explained their hard situation: We are all -150 workers- staying inthe dig and waiting for getting ourpayments. The electricity is switchedoff. The hotel is closed. We have nomoney to buy something to eat anddrink. The hotel gave us oaths but
now we are just waiting to get ourpayments that we deserve. No onecares us. We can not reach thebosses. The last remedy is to protestand to announce our situation andinevitability. We will be here waitingfor getting our rights.

CHILD LABOR IN TURKEYFrom a research in Ege University about child
workers:
According to ILO, for child labor the age limit is 15
with finishing compulsory education. Least 13-year-old
children can work in the soft works such as working inthe restaurants as waiters less than 14 hours in a week.
A survey from ILO about the child labor force in
Turkey on October, 1999:
78.8 % of 6-17 year-old children continues theireducation. The rest of them has to work to help their
family.
