PREZ RELEASE
TRIUMPHANT LADIES
Are gathering together on an e-maillist! What’s that about??? It’s acasual way for us ladies to stay intouch about who is going to an event, meeting, trip or drive. We can alsohelp each other stay informed aboutanything that comes up, such as ifsomeone has surgery, or becomes ill, gets a new car or wins an award for ashow. Knowing someone cares isalways welcome! Also, this has thepotential for growth into more, suchas our own events and gatherings, etc. It’s our own so it can be as muchor little as we want to make of it.There are already a few on my list, andare added only by request. To beincluded in this fun (I hope!) venture, please email me. [email protected] you everyone!!!Nancy
PREZ RELEASE
I was late getting this report toOrrin McGill for the AugustNewsletter as I don’t have acomputer up at the cabin. Sharonand I are restoring the old familycabin and it has been quiterevealing occasionally getting a“you got to be kidding me” as weremove old paneling and find howthe cabin was originally con-structed (not very well). I guessit’s kind of like restoring an oldTriumph where removing thefenders can bring many rustysurprises.
The July meeting was a little rainyand not many Triumphs showedup. We did, however, get a treatas a new member from NewZealand had a Triumph 2000estate shipped all the way toMinnesota from New Zealand. Ithas right hand drive and actuallyhas wood capping off the doortops on the interior. Pretty classyand I have to say that I alwaysthought calling a station wagon anEstate is pretty cool. We raisedour kids hauling them around instation wagons but they won’t becaught dead in one now! May wecould use the word estate and getthem interested again.
I was finally able to get a usedreplacement differential for myTR4 so that will be my nextproject besides getting my sixready for the Texas VTR this fall.
A couple of good events comingup with the Mudhens baseball
game in Miesville and theIntermarque picnic at the end ofJuly. Check out the eventsection of the newsletter for theschedule.

TR Monthly Meeting July 14Semi-Official Minutes
66° and intermittent rain. Was this July orSeptember? The number of Triumphs in theparking lot was more indicative of a Novem-ber meeting. Four. Three convertibles withtheir tops up and a Triumph 2000 Estate.Nevertheless, even though they were trans-portation-challenged, 45 members gathered inthe VFW’s downstairs hideaway for ourmonthly meeting.
President Terry Neuman called the meeting toorder at 7:01. New members were Richardwith his 1968 Triumph 2000 Estate (a.k.a.station wagon) and Bill Krause who has a ’56TR3. Richard’s car came from New Zealand, asdid he before his wife and supercomputerslured him here. Bill is the author of the 1998book, Triumph Sports Cars. He’s thinking ofmaybe doing another volume along the samelines so those of you with good cars shouldget in touch with him.
Membership Secretary Joe Demuth said wehave about 105 members and TreasurerTerry Mackey reported over twelve grand.InterMarque liaison Doug Burch passed onthe news that our Events Coordinator, PatHolt, has taken a real job and won’t be ableto continue. Volunteers are needed. MGPresident Bob Anderson (who goes byAndy) continued Doug’s InterMarquepresentation by putting in plug for Britfestin Hudson on August 12. (See flyer in thisissue.) Two other August 12 events werealso mentioned: the New London to NewBrighton run for pre-1909 cars and theRoyal British Car Show at the Jaguar dealer-ship on I-394.
Tech guru Roger Kraemer said that thereare still openings for August and Septembertech sessions. Usually the third Saturday ofthe month. Contact him if you’d like to
schedule a session. Lots of expert help andfree advice at the cost of only a doughnuts, coffee, beer, and pizzas.
Joe Demuth said that he had received a greatidea from Steve Greenstein: that we spend alittle time at each meeting talking about ourprojects. Joe thought it was such a good ideahe decided to talk about his own project. Hesaid a tubular header and exhaust manifoldattention made his TR6 almost as peppy as aTR3.
The meeting was adjourned at 7:40.

There are too many activities forthis old guy this summer with allthe Triumph events, family dutiesand fundraisers for many goodcauses. So this guy has missed alot of events road trips. I havekept busy though with all yardwork and I have towed the 66 4asolid axle frame home for teardown and refurbishment. Thebody is off and getting littletweaks and hopefully paint oneday. Maybe I should say someyear. But Gayle and I will beattending the national conventionwhich always gets us to parts of
this country we have never seen.So consider this great event andcamaraderie with great TRfriends.
The Vintage Triumph is publishedbi-monthly and if you were amember you would be readingsome great print. If you can spare$35, please join VTR as theycontinue to keep our sport alive. They supply our insurance for ourevents and they have a nice groupof folks in the know to help youwith your cars. You do not haveto own a Triumph to join. Go towww.vtr.org and join today asyou must be a member to attendthe convention.
Best wishes and safe driving.Larry Sanderson, your MN TRVTR liaison guy507 269 1500 [email protected] forquestions concerns or assistance
