Coming up at TSL - Praise Concert and Bible History Fair - A Praise Concert performed by the children in 3K

through grade 4 will be held on Thursday evening, October 20, at 6:30 p.m. in the gymnasium of the Western Avenue campus. The children of the Western Avenue campus have been hard at work learning songs to praise our Lord and Savior at the concert. You will enjoy what you hear at the concert!

Prior to the concert the children in grades 1-8 will have their Bible History Fair projects out for viewing in the classrooms and the Multi-Purpose Room. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. and we encourage our TSL families and friends to come and view what the children have prepared. The children have been busy preparing a variety of projects and ideas.

TSL Forensics Meet - The annual TSL Forensics Meet will be held on Monday evening, October 24, beginning at 6:30 p.m. at the Clark Street campus. Students from TSL, Peace Lutheran School in Sun Prairie, and St. John's Lutheran School in Jefferson will present their prepared selections in poetry reading, story reading, storytelling, demonstration speech, and four-minute speech. The selections are always well prepared and very entertaining. Our TSL families and friends are invited to attend. The evening concludes about 8:00 p.m. The best of the contestants will travel to the LPS Forensics Meet on Friday evening, November 4.

Men’s Choir Men’s Choir rehearsals will begin this coming November. Men who are freshmen-age in high

school and older are welcome to come and experience the uniqueness of men singing in three or four part harmony. The only requirement is a desire to praise the Lord! Questions can be direct to Mr. Moeller at 261-0327 or via email at [email protected].

Our Practice of Close Communion We believe from Acts 2:42 and 1 Corinthians 10:16-17 that Holy Communion is the highest

expression of our fellowship with Jesus and with each other, and that God intends the sacrament to be celebrated together by Christians who accept all the teachings of the Bible. If you are a guest and are not yet a member of the WELS/ELS fellowship, we invite you to learn more about us and, most of all, about the Savior whom God has sent. Then join with us at his communion table. To learn more about our faith and fellowship, speak with Pastor Brauer or Pastor Yahnke.

Personal preparation for Holy Communion can be found on page 156 in front of the hymnal.

Communion in Front Rows If you are unable to walk up to the rail for Communion, you may be seated in one of the

front pews during the service. The pastors and elders will come down to the front pews to distribute Communion.

Anniversary Dinner Reservations Reservations for the Centennial Dinner on November 6 at 11:30 am can be made in several

ways. You can sign up in the Fireside Room, return the reservation form, or go online at tinyurl.com/trinity100. Please make your reservations by October 16.

Trinity Cookbooks Have Arrived! The long awaited Trinity Cookbooks are now ready for purchase. These books contain some

of our members’ favorite recipes and would be a great gift or addition to your cookbook collection. The cost of the books is $15. They may be purchased from the Centennial Committee in the Fireside Room. Proceeds from the sale of the books will help cover the cost of the anniversary dinner.

Choral Fest Help Still Needed We still need help for housing the Winnebago Lutheran choral group on November 11 to 13.

Thanks for those who have volunteered to help already. We could still use homes for at least 10 students. If you can help at all, please sign up in the Fireside room and complete the host questionnaire or contact Michele Maas at [email protected] or 920-206-1710. It will be here before we know it!! Thanks for your help!!

Live Nativity News It is time to start planning for the 2016 Live Nativity held at St. Luke’s Church on Friday,

December 2, from 5-8 p.m. and Saturday, December 3, from 3-7 p.m. We are looking for people to fill acting (nonspeaking) and non-acting roles both indoors and outdoors. There are a limited number of children’s parts (angels, shepherds, beggar) and parental supervision is required. You can participate in one or both days. If you need more information or wish to participate, please call Mary Schultz at 920-261-7959 or E-mail her at [email protected]. Please consider being a part of this amazing outreach as we present the wondrous story of the Christ Child’s birth in word and song. This is a joint outreach activity with the four WELS churches in Watertown.

Our Ministry at Trinity

Mingles Group

Our next Mingles event will be a game night on Friday, October 28 at 7:00 PM. It will be held at the Krueger's house - 912 S 3rd Street in Watertown. Snacks will be provided. Please bring games to share. We look forward to seeing you soon!

Mingles is a social group for those at Watertown WELS churches who are in their 20s and 30s and either married or single. If you are interested in joining Mingles, please email Kristen at [email protected] or Abbie at [email protected].

100th Anniversary Offering Envelopes and Giving In thanksgiving to God for 100 years of blessing upon our

congregation, we have set a goal of raising $100,000 in special offerings over the next nine months. About $88,000 of that offering will be designated for Trinity’s debt retirement. Just over $12,000 of the offering will be sent to the WELS Pakistan Sunday School Ministry. Special offering envelopes have been created for this offering and are available in the Trinity Fireside Room. Every member at Trinity who receives a box of offering envelopes each year has a packet of special offering envelopes. The packets are arranged alphabetically. Please pick up yours and your family members’ today.

If you would like to give 100th Anniversary offerings by using the new Give By Text program, it is now ready for use. Simply send a text to our Trinity Give by Text number (920) 654-1062 with the dollar amount and what fund you would like your offering to be given to. The Trinity debt retirement uses the code: Anniv. The Pakistan Sunday School Ministry uses the code: PakSS. For example, if you would like to donate $25 toward the WELS Pakistan Sunday School Ministry offering, you text the phrase $25 PakSS to the Trinity number. (Leave a space between the dollar amount and the code.) If you haven’t yet entered debit or credit card information for your account, you’ll be sent a link to do so. You only have to do this once. Anytime you use Give By Text after that, you will only need to enter the amount and the code, if you are giving for a special fund.

Rock River OWLS Our local chapter of the OWLS will hold its second meeting of the new 2016-2017 season

at St John's Lutheran Church in Jefferson on October 18th at 1:30 PM. Our presenter will be Rev. Richard Frohmader, who, being retired in Jefferson over the years, has researched and documented an outstanding history of: "Lutheran Beginnings in Jefferson, Wisconsin." Refreshments will be served, courtesy of the ladies of St John's. Current pastors are Matthew Krenke, Joshua Martin and staff minister Peter Schaewe. Rev Frohmader has some interesting stories to tell about Lutherans in Jefferson. The congregation was organized in 1851, just one year after the beginning of the Wisconsin Synod. The Organization of WELS Seniors (OWLS) appeals to those who are retired and/or 50 years old, who want meaningful activity, enjoy spiritual growth and the fellowship of neighboring WELS and ELS members. St John's is located at 215 East Church Street near downtown Jefferson. Look for the two steeples. Bring a friend. Everyone is welcome!
