I pray for the Church and the people every day that you endure and find comfort in the face of hardship and pain. I pray that you find a cooling spirit and respite from the summer heat. This world, as it always has, attempts to push the Word of God to the edges of society where no one may take notice. That is Okay!!! The Word of God is meant for the edges as it is meant for everywhere else. My fervent prayer as I write this article is that you continue to grow in faith, a faith that orients you toward God in all things, an orientation that points directly to the unconditional love of Jesus Christ. Final Note 10

I cannot keep the smile off of my face. The celebration of the Lord on my first Sunday at

Trinity United Methodist was tremendous! I truly felt the Holy Spirit gathering us in

communion, into community to worship with the Word, hymns and prayer. And a very special

blessing took place when we all ate of the bread and drank of the cup. I am excited in beginning my journey here in Lindsborg UMC and cannot wait to visit with you all. I pray for the Church and the people every day that you endure and find comfort in the face of hardship and pain. I pray that you find a cooling spirit and respite

from the summer heat. This world, as it always has, attempts to push the Word of God to the

edges of society where no one may take notice. That is Okay!!! The Word of God is meant for the

edges as it is meant for everywhere else. My fervent prayer as I write this article is that you

continue to grow in faith, a faith that orients you toward God in all things, an orientation that

points directly to the unconditional love of Jesus Christ.

Hallelujah, Steve

Summer Food Program - Feeding Lindsborg's Children The Free Summer Lunch Program is going terrific and once again we are feeding many children and young families from our community. This is a wonderful mission!

Volunteers to help with meal prep and clean-up are still needed! Volunteers will be guided on what to do. No experience needed. We will train. Jobs could include cutting up fruit, opening cans, rolling forks or spoons in a napkin, counting, washing a few

dishes, browning hamburger, serving food and other easy jobs.

Don’t  feel  you  can  help  in  the  kitchen?    Then  consider  donating  ketchup,  ranch          dressing, granola bars, miracle whip squeeze bottle, plastic forks, or spoons, napkins, pancake syrup, etc.

We will be feeding kids until the middle of August.

Sister Church Initiative One of the challenges made at the Kansas West Conference was for each church from Kansas West to get to know a church in either the Kansas East or Nebraska Conferences as we become one conference. TUMC Leadership took this challenge to heart and agreed to make First United Methodist Church in Cozad, NE our sister church! If you would like to participate by sending a card or calling the church and leaving cheerful messages, and in prayer for each other here is the information:

First United Methodist Church PO Box 187

1515 B. Street Cozad, NE 69130

308-784-2887 The hope is to eventually have congregational pen pals and great open communication between the two churches!

Love the Lord your God...and love your neighbor as yourself.

Luke 10:27

Wow! What a great success VBS was! Thanks to all the volunteers and those who donated items to make the day happen! I am blessed to have had volunteers who worked behind the scenes getting decorations up, shopping, and cre-ating group lists! I am also thankful for the volunteers who arrived at

8am and stayed until 4pm or so, working to support VBS, and lead groups and centers. I want to especially lift up in thanksgiving those who supported VBS in technology, paperwork, and the lunch program! The youth who vol-unteered to come help lead groups, assist in centers, par-ticipate in the skits and Bible story drama were instru-mental to the success of the day!

VBS continues in Sunday school from 9:50am to 10:40am We have slowed down and are going through the Bible stories that show us how God wants us to be good neighbors in the world. All ages are welcome to attend this 5-week summer "assembly-style" class. Meet in the youth room for music, stories, drama, and games! We'll discuss how neighbors are to treat one another. See you there!
