Stewardship Thought

“The Spirit itself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children then heirs, heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ” - ROMANS 8:16-17

If we are heirs to the kingdom of God, shouldn’t we work to build up His kingdom? Shouldn’t we be good stewards of our inheritance, using our time in prayer, our talent in charitable works and our treasure to care for the Church that God has left to us? Our Church is a treasured heirloom from God. Do we treat it that way?

Bishop Murry, is grateful for your love, prayers, cards and well wishes. I have been informed that after 3 weeks of treatment he is responding well. Please keep him in your prayers.

Well wishes may be sent c/o Diocese of Youngstown, 144 W. Wood St., Youngstown, OH 44503. You can also leave notes via the Diocese’ Facebook Page.

CHURCH AT HOME

Next weekend parishes in the Diocese of Youngstown will hold the annual CHURCH AT HOME combined collection. This three-in-one collection supports the national and local work of the Catholic Campaign for Human Development, the Catholic Communications Campaign, and the Catholic University of America/Newman Campus Ministries collection next weekend for the ministries of the CHURCH AT HOME.

Dear God, those whom you called to do great things for you

were often tested first. You did so, not to frustrate them, but to bring out what you saw as the best in them. Joseph was raised from slavery to royalty, and you gave him grace to forgive when he'd been wronged. Solomon was raised from prince to king, and you granted him wisdom to govern his people. Jeremiah was raised from youth to prophet, and you gave him courage to proclaim your truth. Now begins a new chapter in the lives of our graduates. Give them the wisdom to make wise decisions, just as you gave your servants guidance in ages past. Amen.

Congratulations to all graduates of our parish.
