GATHERING SONG – Thy Word Thy Word is a lamp unto my feet

And a light unto my path (repeat)

And I think I've lost my way

Still You're there right beside me

Nothing will I fear

As long as You are near

Please be near me to the end

Verse 2

I will not forget

Your love for me and yet

My heart forever is wandering

Jesus be my guide

SONG – Cry Of My Heart

It is the cry of my heart Teach me Your holy ways oh Lord

To follow You So I can walk in Your truth

It is the cry of my heart Teach me Your holy ways oh Lord

To be close to You And make me wholly devoted to You

It is the cry of my heart

To follow all of the days of my life

Open my eyes so I can see

The wonderful things that You do

Open my heart up more and more

And make it wholly devoted to You

CONFESSION AND FORGIVENESS

Blessed be the holy Trinity, ☩ one God,

whose name is majestic in all the earth,

who rescues and heals in every time of trouble,

who does all things well.

Amen.

Let us come before God, seeking forgiveness and life. Silence is kept for reflection.

Steadfast and saving God,

have mercy on us.

We confess to you all the ways

we turn from you and harm one another.

In your compassion,

forgive our sins and heal our hurts.

Bring forth from us a harvest of righteousness,

the fruits of gentleness and peacemaking,

the sheaves of wisdom and justice;

through Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord.

Amen.

In the name of ☩ Jesus, the Son of God,

receive mercy and find grace in your time of need.

Your transgressions are forgiven;

God’s love is healing balm for your wounds.

Rejoice, for God raises you up to new life in Christ.

Amen.

Let us pray together… Almighty God, gracious Lord, we thank you that your Holy

Spirit renews the church in every age. Pour out your Holy Spirit on your faithful

people. Keep them steadfast in your word, protect and comfort them in times of

trial, defend them against all enemies of the gospel, and bestow on the church your

saving peace, through Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord, who lives and reigns with

you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen. Congregation may be seated

SCRIPTURE READING – John 8:31;36 esus speaks of truth and freedom as spiritual realities known through his word. He reveals the

truth that sets people free from sin.

Jesus said to the Jews who had believed in him, “If you continue in my word, you are

truly my disciples; and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free.” They

answered him, “We are descendants of Abraham and have never been slaves to anyone.

What do you mean by saying, ‘You will be made free’?”

Jesus answered them, “Very truly, I tell you, everyone who commits sin is a slave to

sin. The slave does not have a permanent place in the household; the son has a place there

forever. So if the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed.”

APOSTLES’ CREED

I believe in God, the Father almighty,

creator of heaven and earth.

I believe in Jesus Christ, God's only Son, our Lord,

who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,

born of the virgin Mary,

suffered under Pontius Pilate,

was crucified, died, and was buried;

he descended to the dead.*

On the third day he rose again;

he ascended into heaven,

he is seated at the right hand of the Father,

and he will come to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit,

the holy catholic church,

the communion of saints,

the forgiveness of sins,

the resurrection of the body,

and the life everlasting. Amen

PRAYERS OF INTERCESSION The prayers will be offered in petitions ending in “Lord, in your mercy”. The congregation will respond,

“Hear our prayer”

PEACE The peace of Christ be with you always.

And also with you. The people may greet one another with a sign of Christ's peace, and may say, "Peace be with you,"

or similar words. Please remain standing after this.

OFFERING PRAYER Merciful God, as grains of wheat scattered upon the hills

were gathered together to become one bread,

so let your church be gathered together

from the ends of the earth into your kingdom,

for yours is the glory through Jesus Christ, now and forever.

Amen

HOLY COMMUNION

The Lord be with you.

And also with you.

Lift up your hearts.

We lift them up to the Lord

Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.

It is right to give God thanks and praise.

It is indeed right, our duty and our joy,

that we should at all times and in all places

give thanks and praise to you, almighty and merciful God,

through our Savior Jesus Christ;

who on this day overcame death and the grave,

and by his glorious resurrection opened to us the way of everlasting life.

And so, with all the choirs of angels,

with the church on earth and the hosts of heaven,

we praise your name and join their unending hymn:

In the night in which he was betrayed,

our Lord Jesus took bread, and gave thanks;

broke it, and gave it to his disciples, saying:

Take and eat; this is my body, given for you.

Do this for the remembrance of me.

Again, after supper, he took the cup, gave thanks,

and gave it for all to drink, saying:

This cup is the new covenant in my blood,

shed for you and for all people for the forgiveness of sin.

Do this for the remembrance of me

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will

be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us

our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into

temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and

the glory, forever and ever. Amen.

God gives food to those who hunger. Come, be fed, be healed.

As you come forward receive the bread from the Pastor and then dip it in one of the cups held by the

Communion Assistants. The first cup is wine and the second is grape juice. Then partake of the elements

together. You may return to your place by using the side aisle. The Praise Band will be singing during

distribution. You are welcome to sing along

PRAYER AND BLESSING

O God, the host at every meal,

at this table you spread out a feast for all peoples,

the bread of life and the cup of salvation.

Send us from this banquet

to invite others into these good things,

to let justice roll down like waters,

and to care for the least of our sisters and brothers;

through Jesus Christ, our Sovereign and our Savior.

Amen.

The blessing of almighty God, the Father of glory,

+ Jesus Christ our peace, and the Spirit of truth,

be upon you and remain with you always.

Amen.
