TriesteHandmade in England
lifestyle collection
belts and accessories made with Italian leather
Trieste is a lifestyle collection handmade in England. Our accessories are coast-inspired, a mix of old English brass equestrian hardware and true one of a kind designs. Offered year-round, timeless, our belts can be worn any season. At times, we will collaborate with designers to create additional style offerings.
Cheers,Pamela
For our lifestyle collection book, we included words from special people who have cared for the Ocean as much as we have.
There is a place I like to go where I feel safe, for me it is both romantic and eternal ~
At Trieste we care about where and how our products are made. We take pride in creating an accessory that is simply beautiful when worn. We believe in sustainability in the goods we offer.
We hope that when you wear Trieste, it will remind you to love the Ocean.

Roger Revelle, ocean scholar, scientist
"The Ocean holds me in an enduring spell. Part of the spell comes from mystery -- the fourfold mystery of the shoreline, the surface, the horizon and the timeless motion of the sea."

"The fishermen know that the sea is dangerous and the storm terrible, but they have never found these dangers sufficient reason for remaining ashore."
"It is the greatest feeling in the world out there. No one can touch you. It's just you and the waves. There's no pulling out, no stopping. You've committed yourself and have to follow through or take the punishment of a bad wipe-out. You know, you never can conquer the waves. The joy is to become part of them, to feel that nature is oblivious to your presence."

We designed a special trophy buckle recognizing work of the Vigilantes de Bahía Magdalena
“In 2005, Julio Solis founded the Magdalena Baykeeper (in Baja California, known as the Vigilantes de Bahía Magdalena), and has since provided continual vigilance against water pollution, mangrove destruction, sea turtle poaching, and poorly-planned coastal developments. Julio understands better than anyone the most effective ways to not only protect the area's wildlife, but also to inform and engage communities in this work.” - International Community Foundation
We found a very special Trophy buckle silversmith Company to make our buckles. LuAnn Perez, who specializes in rodeo buckles, works with her silversmiths to make gorgeous sterling silver overlay buckles. These are made with a sheet of silver heated onto a nickel or bronze base. They offer gold plating and can add any amount of detail including real stones. They did beautiful handcrafted work in creating our Sea Turtle Trophy and Jonny Crow Horse buckles.
Trophy buckles are usually made for specific events, especially rodeos. They first appeared in the 1920's and were awarded as prizes. They usually have the event name, year, and the winner's name engraved upon them. The more detail on the buckle, the more valuable and desirable.
We dedicate our buckle to the Vigilantes who help protect sea turtles and the environment, and offer it to both men and women- cowboys or not, to be worn year-round.

Each and every one of the products goes through many steps. Quite unique tomany modern day leather workers- is the hand waxing (using pure naturalbeeswax) of the original 1960's Barbour Linen thread which is hand stitched onthe bags, using a traditional saddle stitch.
Everything is produced by hand with their very special touch, plus personal servicewhich defines Sail. The saddlebag they make for Trieste is truly one of a kind, madejust for you.

"An expedition to the nearly pristine reefs of the Central Pacific showed me firsthand what a gold standard for a healthy ocean looks like. A yearly pilgrimage to study mass coral sprawling always takes my breath away, while reminding me that the citizens of the sea need us to tell their story." "In witnessing these tests, I was left with a deep and abiding feeling that now humanity must assume a heavy responsibility. A modern "Pandora's Box" has been opened and we cannot ignore the potentialities for good or evil that have been unlocked." Bikini Atoll, 1946

With a background in industrial design, he is inspired by traditionalfolk art, specifically a lot of the native southwestern and Mexican tribalcommunities, along with the earlyWestern culture which helped to shapea lot of our modern leather crafting techniques. He is also influenced bythe traditional braiding techniques of early California bridle makers. Heleans towards knots, materials, colors, and most specifically the culture oftraditional sailors and privateers, with seamanship feel - which is fittingfor Trieste.
For Trieste, he made special Ocean cuffs for men and women.Together with our design collaboration and his excellent craftsmanship,we offer you a small piece of handcrafted American leatherwork, handmade in the mountains of North Carolina.
collaboration|Zack Hodgin
Zack Hodgin, a very talented American leather craftsman stillpractices making leather goods the way his father taught him. He has aspecial old school touch. His father made custom belts in the 60's and70's and no doubt influenced his work. His business is called Leather &Brass Works, and he is busy in a tiny town in North Carolina, calledBanner Elk.

On the Trieste's deep Ocean dive, January 1960
"…Our base was in Guam, until we could arrive to the precise trench in the Mariana Trench where we were to descend to dive, we had about 4 days to tow the submarine with a tugboat but the weather was virtually poor... the sea was very rough, windy, some rain I believe, and so on - but as soon as we started to dive it was absolutely quiet and...blue, all the light was absolutely beautitful..."
