Oxifree Global Limited, 8 Lyon Way, Frimley, Surrey, England, GU16 7AL FIELD TRIAL for Sakhalin Energy - Oxifree Preservation product TM198 Introduction Oxifree TM198 is a new product to SEIC (Sakhalin Energy Investment Company), and is used for external corrosion control for flanges, valves, and bolted assemblies in both onshore and offshore environments. Oxifree is represented in Sakhalin through Agent Company (INTRA). Technical presentation had been done in 2014 and it was agreed to carry out a free of charge field trial in theSEIC LNG Plant during summer 2015. Details: In summer 2015, surface preparation by St3 using hand tools had been carried out for 3 flanges, and then applied with Oxifree by supporting Intra team, and using their Oxifree Polymelt equipment. One of the flange Oxifree coatings had been removed after 10 months and visual inspection confirm that it is in good condition. The other 2 flanges Oxifree coating had been removed after one year, and visual inspection confirm that it is in good conditions. The trial flanges are part of process equipment at the LNG plant, which is subject to winter environment where the ambient temperature is – 30 deg Celsius with snow/ice conditions and also in summer environment where the ambient temperature is + 30 deg Celsius and severe rain. All the application had been done in presence of certified INTRA rep. and SEIC corrosion engineer. The following are the photos show the flange conditions before application and after application Flange #1 Before surface preparation Comments: visible coating degradation (breakdown) with peeling of paint, loss of coating to bare metal, traces of rust identified on the flange (bolts/nuts) surface.

Comments:applicationofOxifreematerialproductTM198byusingofPolymeltHeatingMachinehasbeendonebyINTRArepresentativein2steps.Thicknessofthelayervariesfrom3to6mm.Timeofapplicationisaround20-25minperflange.

Afterremovalofcoating

Comments:after1yearafterapplicationofOxifreematerialproductTM198-thesurfaceunderthecoatinghasbeenfounddryandcleanwithoutanydeteriorationandtracesofrust.ItwasfoundasmallamountofcorrosioninhibitorwhichextractedfromOxifreeandformedahydrophobiasscaleonthemetal surface,whichcanbeseenintheimages.Flange#2
