Holiness Unto the Lord“ . . . there is a God in heaven who reveals mysteries.”
~ Daniel 2:28 NIV ~
Thursday, July 11 - Sunday, July 21
All of our 14 area churches, their members and pastors associated with Tri-State Camp are being recognized and introduced on our 1st Annual Homecoming Night taking place on Sunday, July 14 during the evening service. There will be a special place of honor for each pastor to sit on the platform behind the evangelist and retired pastors are also encouraged to attend and participate. Each pastor will be announced and offer a short benediction at the end of the service. We hope to see many familiar faces of old friends and lots of new ones, as well.
We are having a prayer walk around the grounds again this year. Pastor Steve Forsythe, from First Free Methodist Church, is in charge. If you would like to par-ticipate, please gather at 6:15 p.m. on Saturday, July 13 by the Ebenezer stone. The walk is taking place at 6:30 p.m. and will lead into the evening service at 7:00 p.m.
Our evangelist for Camp 2013 is Pastor Jake Huffman from Villa Heights Baptist Church in Ro-anoke, Virginia. Pastor Jake began his ministry as a missionary in Africa where he coached basketball at the University of Zambia for two years. While there, he met is future wife, Dana Brask from Minneso-ta, who was also serving for two years as a teach-er for the American Embassy School of Lusaka. Upon their arrival back to the United States, they were married in 1990. Jake then entered the South-ern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky. After completing his degree, he pastored Corinth Baptist Church in Kentucky for 17 years
before moving to Roanoke, Virginia in 2007. Although they have no children of their own, they find joy serving in their church’s vibrant children’s ministry. Dana also en-joys writing. Before coming to camp, the couple will be leading their third group tour of the Holy Land. During Family Camp 2013, Pastor Jake is going to speak on a series of messages from the book of Daniel called “Prophecy: Living a Holy Life in a Corrupted World”. He says, “it’s time for the church to rediscover this prophetic message in a culture that is slipping further away from the Truth.” The Huffmans also attended and spoke at TSFC in 2006.
Corey and Connie Persing, along with their children - Nathanial, Gabri-alla and Ikaiasha, are our missionaries this year. The Persings began a two-year term in Chiang Mai, Thailand, in August 2011. They are members of the New Middleton, FMC in Ohio.
