  • Amarillo Tri-State Exposition Scholarship Program

The Amarillo Tri-StateExposition's volunteerBoard of Directorscreated a scholarshipprogram for the youthof the Texas Pan-handle in the spring of2004. The endowmentfund is being admin-istered by the Oppor-tunity Plan, Inc, ascholarship adminis-tration group locatedin Canyon, Texas.

The main criteria for the scholarships are the financial need of the stu-dent, academic achievement, community service and leadership perfor-mance. The scholarship recipient must have graduated from a high schoolin the Panhandles 26 county region and be enrolled in a communitycollege or university.

The Board of Directors have encouragedways to grow the endowment fund includingspecial scholarship fund raising activities anda matching grant program.

Patrons of the annual Texas Ford DealersTri-State Fair contribute by turning in their un-used coupons at designated containers lo-cated near the exit gates. The money from the unredeemed coupons isthen moved into the scholarship fund. Our goal is to increase the endow-ment Fund so that more youth will benefit from the annual Texas FordDealers Tri-State Fair & Rodeo.
