• First public library was founded 1871 by the local people.
• Its activety slowely went down by the year 1915.
• The municipality library of Pornainen was foundet 1944 and it startedits activity 1945.
• From 1999 library is located in current premises in the center of Pornainen.
• Staff: library director and 2 library assistants.
• This year big renovation: new floor and new circulation desk-> attention to ergonomics and well-being at work.

CELIA LIBRARY
• Celia is a national center for accessible literature and publishing in Finland, working toward equality in reading and learning. Celia belongs tothe administrative sector of the Ministry of Education and Culture.
• Equal access to literature and information for print disabled persons.• Celia produces and distributes literature in accessible formats, such as
talking books, e-books and braille books, together with public libraries and publishers. In addition to fiction and non-fiction, Celia also produces and distributes textbooks in accessible formats to all educational levels. Through the electronic service channel Celia offers about 40 000 books.
• How to get access to Celia’s services?• If you have a print disability and need accessible media in Finnish, please
contact your local library to assist you. The service is free for it`s users!
WHO CAN USE CELIA?
• If reading an ordinary book is difficult for examble due to:
• Visual impairment
• Dyslexia
• Impaired vision
• Illness or injury which makes difficult to read printed book
• Temorarily poor perfomance
• Organisations whose users include persons with print disabilities
• Poor Finnish language skill is not a reason to use Celia!
• Today Celia serve approximately 30 000 users through public libraries, academic libraries and other institutions.
