Embassy of India Guatemala City TREE PLANTING EVENT TO COMMEMORATE BAPU@150 India in Guatemala in partnership with the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources (MARN), Municipality of Guatemala City, the National Council on Protected Areas (CONAP), and the Authority for Sustainable Management of Lake Amatitlán (AMSA), organized a tree planting event at ¨Erick Barrondo¨ Sports Centre to commemorate the 150th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi on 28 August 2019. More than 300 participants including school children participated at the event. 150 tree saplings were planted at the Sports Centre. H.E. Mr. Alfonso Alonzo, Minister of Environment and Natural Resources graced the occasion. A 10- minute documentary on Mahatma Gandhi in Spanish was shown to the school children during the event. Natalicio de Mahatma Gandhi el 28 de agosto de 2019. Más de 300
personas, incluyendo niños de entidades educativas, asistieron a la
actividad. Una muestra de 150 árboles se plantó en diferentes áreas
verdes del Centro Deportivo. El evento contó con la participación
del Excmo. Sr. Alfonso Alonzo, Ministro de Ambiente y Recursos
Naturales. Asimismo, se presentó a los niños participantes, un
documental corto en idioma español sobre la vida de Mahatma
Gandhi.
