TREATMENT AT CORNERSTONEWHO, WHAT, WHEN, WHERE, HOW, & WHY…
OUR HISTORY• Founded on Sept. 22, 1989 by Bill Hood – we had 18 beds and 22 staff members
• Our core philosophy has been built upon and around the 12 steps - therapeutic community, abstinence
based, long-term treatment model built around a continuum of care – detox, residential, sober living,
intensive outpatient, continuous care/aftercare
• We are still owned by the Hood Family. – (Bill’s children and grandchildren own the company.)
• We have grown to be the largest private employer in Blount County (240 employees)
• We have outgrown our facilities twice so, are now in our 3rd location. We have over 160+ licensed beds
at Cornerstone. We started another program, Stepping Stone to Recovery, to occupy our previous
location.
• We are an in-network facility with most major insurance companies and several smaller insurers.
