Deliver the most effective instruction possible while protecting the health of students and their families and the health of staff and their families.
We have improved distance learning• Used student, family, teacher, and staff feedback
• Added Google Classroom to provide a single place for students to go for assignments; Google Classroom Development Team supporting implementation
• Added some software to fill gaps (examples: Happy Numbers, Vocabulary/Spelling City)
• New World Language programs that include online components
• Khan Academy MAP Accelerator
• We will again loan devices to students who need them
Layered approach to reducing transmissionCOVID-19 needs to get into respiratory systemss
1. Keep virus from being breathed in (most important)• Masks to catch exhaled or coughed viruses and block inhalation• Distancing so that people aren’t in cough/exhale zones
2. Keep virus off hands that touch faces• Handwashing to get viruses off hands• Surface cleaning to keep viruses off hands• Minimize sharing of objects
3. Keep sick people out of school• Health self-checks for students and staff• Isolation areas and cleaning protocols

All Learning at School

• Students at school five days per week• In 3A, we continue shortened schedules; in 3B, schedules return to normal• Continue shortened day or resume normal schedule depending on grade
level and conditions• Elementary students stay in class cohorts• We have a Stage 4 (normal operations) for when large group activities may
resume
How will we decide when to change stages?• Need to explore criteria with public health officials before making a
final decision
• Current best thinking is that if our county comes off the Governor’s Watch List for an extended time, we could safely increase the amount of time students are in school unless public health officials feel it is not advisable
• We will revisit the decision regularly to consider changes
• We can move between stages, either up or down, rapidly as needed
