Modesto has an abundance of sites, events, and outdoor activities to keep you busy. We hope you have an opportunity to hit all of them!

McHenry Mansion http://www.mchenrymansion.org The City’s only original Victorian home. Free tours are offered and the mansion is often used for special occasions hosted by groups, organizations and individuals.

Take the McHenry Mansion Candlelight Tour held in December. Tours are conducted by docents in period costumes to add to the ambience. There is a nominal fee charged for entrance that includes dessert and beverages.

The State Theatre http://www.thestate.org/ This art deco movie theatre opened 1934 and shows current films, live performances, and classic films from the past.

As the State turned 80 years old this past December, a birthday bash is being held on May 30, 2015. Costume up like its 1934, enjoy live performances, complimentary hors d/oeuvres and dancing. Tickets available on-line.

Naraghi Lake This man-made lake is located in northeast Modesto and is currently owned by the Naraghi Family, who were at one time large landowners in the area. The 13 acre lake houses commonly found fish, ducks and geese.

Over the years, numerous proposals for the land and the lake have been discussed, but most plans are hamstrung due to limited amount of land available [surrounding land sold off and developed with homes].
