    Morning drive to Mysore. The city got its name from Mahishasura, the buffalo headed demon king. Chamun-

    eswari, an incarnation of Parvati, consort of Lord Shiva, killed the demon. It is also the capital of sandalwood,

    musk and rosewood. Mysore emerged as the capital of the Wodeyar kings, in 1399 AD.
