Warning: The use of non-matched system components can cause reduced safety levels and is not admissible. This can cause a hazard to life and limb. Always use the PFEIFER components that are matched to each other!
Caution: The cast-in anchors must be determined by the planning engineer. The instructions for installation and use of the selected anchor type from the PFEIFER thread system must be complied with!

SafetyThe following safety parameter values for the PFEIFER lifting anchor system are derived as follows in accordance with the VDI/BV-BS 6205 directive, in accordance with the machinery directive 2006/42/EC. For this, a load-side dynamic working coefficient ψdyn=1.3 was assumed.– Steel failure wire rope: γs = 4,0 – Concrete failure*: γc = 2,1– Steel failure chains or full sections: γs = 3,0 * for factory monitored fabrication of the prefab concrete elements

PFEIFER Flared Lifting Loops are intended to be used as lifting devices in conjunction with the lifting anchors from the PFEIFER thread system. Lifting devices that are not part of the system – recognisable from differing manufacturer/type designation – are not admissible. Thanks to the specially developed flared ferrule, angled and transverse lifting is possible and permissible using the flared lifting anchor.

Instructions for installation and use
The PFEIFER Flared Lifting Loop is a lifting device in the PFEIFER thread system for transverse shear pull, parallel shear pull and straight pull when lifting precast concrete elements. In combination with cast-in PFEIFER lifting anchors it forms the lifting anchor system. This provides an unambiguous assignment of the lifting devices according to the designation of thread type and size.

Warning: An inadequate screw-in depth reduces the
safety level or can even result in failure. This can result in injury or death to persons.Screw the thread in fully to the last turn (see Table 1). No more than one thread pitch may protrude from the lifting anchor.
Installation
Caution: It is not permitted to use grippers, iron bars
or similar tools for screwing in and out. This can damage the lifting devices. Always screw the lifting devices in and out manually!
Warning: Dirty threads of lifting devices and anchors can reduce the screw-in depth. This reduces the carrying capacity and structural elements can fall down as a result. This causes a hazard
to life and limb. The thread must always be clean and lubricated! If necessary, dirty threads in the lifting anchor should be cleaned using the reworking screw (see thread systems brochure), so that the full screw-in depth is available!

Use
Caution: The Flared Lifting Loop may be used only in combination with PFEIFER anchors from the thread system. The respective
instructions for the installation and use of the system components from the thread system must be complied with.
Original inspection and service life PFEIFER lifting devices may no longer be used if the following types of dama-ge occur:– missing or illegible marking– breakage of 6 single wires over a length of 6 x rope diameter, maximum 14
wire breakages in total, 3 neighbouring wire breakages on the outside of a strand or the breakage of a whole strand
– crushing of the wire rope– deformation or damage to the rope or the tapped socket– strong wear (>10 % of the diameter)– traces of arc welds/welding sputters on wires– corrosion pits– connection between wire rope and loosened or detached– settling in the swaged-on area– thread damage– evident distortions, signs of wear
Notice: Before using for the first time, at least once a year or more frequently depending on the operating conditions, the lifting
devices must be thoroughly examined by the authorised specialist accor-ding to the specified criteria
Warning: Any modification to the wire rope or metal structural elements causes a weakening of the lifting device with the risk of
failure and consequent falling of the structural element. Do not perform any repair work – dispose of the lifting devices instead.
Caution: Lifting devices with protruding, broken wires represent a risk of injury and may not be used! They must be discarded.
FOR PLANNERS · FOR PRECAST PLANTS · FOR USERS
Check the system consistency by inspecting the data clip of the lifting anchor and the load capacity identi-fication tag of the Flared Lifting Loop.
Information on the markings:– Type/Size – EC marking– Year of manufacture – Manufacturer
Warning: If the radius of curvature of the hook is
too small, the lifting device can fail even at the rated load. This is a hazard to life.Use only attachment hooks with a minimum radius of curvature of 1.5 x rope diameter in accor-dance with Table 1.
Caution: Missing or illegible markings can make it impossible to correctly classify the Flared Lifting Loops as lifting devices and
anchors. This can result in items falling and causing a hazard to life and limb. Flared Lifting Loops and anchors with absent or illegible markings must be immediately taken out of service!
Warning: Failure to account for all load cases when dimensioning the anchor can lead to failure of the system. Ensure that all load
cases are taken into account for the anchors and funnel rope eyes (trans-verse shear pull, parallel shear pull etc.).
Special note: The Flared Lifting Loop is particularly dependent on the soundness of the rope due to its design. The rope near the is
subject to particular stress by frequent bending back and forth. Therefore, when using after frequent bending back and forth, careful attention must be paid to the service life due to wire breakages and damage.

Warning: The use of Flared Lifting Loops that
have reached the end of their service life can result in failure and so to the death of persons.Flared Lifting Loops that have reached the end of their service life must be clearly marked by the qualified person or made unusable and taken out of service!
Warning: Damage, distor-tions, cracks and extensive
corrosion pits on the components of the Flared Lifting Loop can reduce the carrying capacity and lead to failure. This causes a hazard to life and limb. Any affected parts must be assessed by a suitably qualified person and, if necessary, taken out of service immediately.

Incorrect StorageWarning: Use of the Flared Lifting Loop by untrained personnel results in the risk of incorrect use and thus the risk of structural
elements falling down and causing injury to, or the death of persons. Use only trained personnel!
Warning: It is not admissible to use the lifting devices for lashing during the transport of precast concrete elements. This can lead to
loss or fall of the load and injury to, or the death of persons. These lifting devices must be used only for lifting and moving precast concrete ele-ments.
FOR PLANNERS · FOR PRECAST PLANTS · FOR USERS
Caution: Incorrect use can result in safety hazards and reduced carrying capacity. This results in the risk of a fall and a hazard to
life and limb. Lifting anchor systems must be used only as shown in the instructions for installation and use and only by suitable trained personnel.
Test serviceThe PFEIFER test service, with spe-cially trained test technicians (EN 473) and the most modern equip-ment, is available to take over from you the responsibility for carrying out the legally prescribed inspection of your hoists, lifting and attachment devices. We can test at your site with one of our mobile vehicles with examination equipment, at our head-quarters or in our branch locations where available.
The quality of our products and services is what underlies our success.
