Cities across the world are racing to cope with rapid uncontrolled urbanisation. As

quoted by United Nations, 54% of the world’s population lives in urban areas, a

number that is expected to increase to 66% by 2050. This dramatic rise in urban

population necessitates reshaping the real estate landscape across the globe

through Transit-oriented development (TOD).

The big question of what it takes to get your TOD right will be the key ingredient

of our event. A platform bringing together panel of elite speakers representing

industry leaders and prominent organisations to address the hot issues such as;

enhancing government and private partnership, getting the buy in from different

stakeholders, effective land use and project nancing, successfully aligning the

MXD components with Transits as well as drawing investors and business for your

future development.

Join Transit Oriented Development by Trueventus to unravel best

solutions and understanding the secret mantras in achieving a world class TOD!

Speaker to be advised

Getting the buy in from different stakeholders and partners in realising a successful TODTransit oriented development is a complex project that involves integration between various stakeholders, which requires good collaboration in ensuring the success of a TOD. This session seeks to highlight the role and participation of different parties working together for the success of a project. The following key element will be covered:

Effectively aligning government development policy and zoning regulation with your TOD project Many cities around the world are equipped with comprehensive planning and development policy. Implementing a TOD project requires a strong government backing. That said, developers need to ensure their development compliments the current government policies. This session will focus on the planning and approval limitation, and how best to meet it.Ir Lee Suet Sen Council MemberPetaling Jaya City Council, Malaysia

• Paradigm concept: Choosing the best components forurban planning

• Expanding the concept of new paradigm in planning• Assessing short terms gains and long term visions• Building a new and integrated l ifestyle in dense

environmentJoel Luna Vice President Ayala Land, Philippines

Sustainability is the main component in developing Transit Oriented Development where the transit accessibility is higher than auto accessibility. Developers are now into the energy efficient buildings and smart design. This session will discuss on how to integrate the smart city concept into your TOD.John C. F. Cheng, Director Ronald Lu & Partners, Hong Kong

Adapting Land Value Capture: Financing Transit Oriented - Development with land valueThis session will focus on the use of “development-based land value capture” mechanisms to help overcome this financial hurdle. Coupled with supportive land use regulations, development-based land value capture (LVC) helps “capture” property value increases due to transit investments. Gerald Ollivier Infrastructure SpecialistWorld Bank, Singapore

This session seeks to highlight different kind of mechanisms that is applicable into innovative PPP projects. The delivery of the project relies on few factors such as project preparation, financial planning, risk planning etc. If the tools to convey the TOD project are properly determined, there should not be any problem with its on-time delivery. Implementing innovative PPP for TOD it’s not a dream anymore but a real opportunity for the developer to build a new transportation hub within the city.

• Promoting new ideas and tapping into profitable market segments

• Putt ing together commercia l and recreat ionaldevelopment in promoting economic value as well asenhancing community development

• A case study from Perth will be presented to the audienceDaniel Tan Project Director Aquaint Property, Singapore

• Encouraging public to utilise public transport by providing a good facility

• Creating a seamless transit system with support from the government

Ed Baker, Director / Head of Master Planning (Asia) Brodway Malyan, Singapore

Private development over railways – Adopting the HK Model Fragmented land ownership sometimes will cause hassle when developers want to develop an area within railways station. This session will examine the issues related to development over railways and possible challenges that need to be considered. A real case study from Hong Kong will presented to provide the audience as a reference. Donald Choi, Managing DirectorNan Fung Development Limited, Hong Kong

Promoting greater mobility at lower cost through Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) integration in TODToday cities are promoting TOD as a sustainable growth management strategy. Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) is becoming increasingly popular as a flexible, cost-effective rapid transit mode. It can be seen to promote economic development and support high quality transit oriented development. This session seeks to probe the opportunities and challenges of leveraging transit-oriented development (TOD) through BRT. A case study of Sunway BRT will be presented. Rudyanto Azhar Chief Executive OfficerPrasarana Integrated Development, Malaysia

In Copenhagen, the concept of a transit-oriented development is being taken to a whole new level with the creation of, a transit-oriented city. The set of decision rules reveals that several combinations of critical success factors have been effective in achieving implementation across city-regions in different contexts. This session is created to teach delegates on how to put into practice TOD principles whilst examining the Copenhagen TOD and what its benefits are to you.

Enhancing ridership and revenues through transit orientated development- Case Study MTR Hong Kong Hong Kong is well known as the most efficient transit oriented development. This session will highlight how MTR Corporation can generates more revenue by developing retails cluster along the transit station and other advertisement related revenue Speaker to be advised

Building a Unique Brand: Selecting the right type of development in creating an iconic TODThis discussion session will highlight the followings: • Hot spots for TOD with significant growth potential for

commercial activities• Focusing on innovative mixed-use designs that maximize

limited land in urban areas• Better transit options: Creating effective transit in order

to improve the quality of life of residentsDzung Do Nguyen, Senior Panner CPG Urban Planning, Singapore

No one can survive without veins in the body, so do cities without roads, rail tracks etc. Transportation and communication system is crucial to connect the residents with their offices, leisure areas or schools. This session will highlight what are the best methods to identify the possible transit zones and properties for the future development and attracting investors.

Engaging sustainable planning with TOD: Blending in Park and Ride facilities in reducing carbon footprint A successful TOD development lies on the ability to maximise the diversified interaction within the city borders. The emergence reducing carbon footprint and provide a sustainable development in getting more important each day. Including some special facilities such as Park and Ride may result in higher interest of the development at the same time promoting an Eco and sustainable progress of real estate industry.Speaker to be advised
